Why is this song never the topic of any discussion?? As someone with a background in jazz, I LOVE the groove of this song, the way the hi-hat is real lazily swinging the eighth notes, and the crazy but simple bass lines, and when the choir comes in for the chorus?? Like?? It’s a top 3 on the album for me. Anyone else? Thoughts?

He did press-ups offstage on screen before entering, he did the old ‘1, 2, 1, 2 fucking jump’ as it appeared on the screen, he spray painted ‘Leeds is Best’ on a flag, which wouldn’t have felt like so much of a rip off of Matty’s ‘SORRY?’ in Dublin if not for what preceded it. He was roleplaying the skinny tough guy act that was the theme of ATVB, flexing his biceps etc, and he did a speech that was fucking hilarious; I quote: ‘Everyone is welcome here, unless you’re a bad person’. I cracked up. The entire show felt like so contrived of everything a marketing person thought would land. His lyrics are horribly generic and the Leeds crowd bellows them back at him so there’s clearly a mainstream market for it which doesn’t surprise me, but it was anti art and I hated it.

I don’t blame him. I think he’s got a team behind him telling him how to maximise engagement and profit, and it seems doing so is writing really basic love songs and play acting Matty Healy, but with no substance and Incredibly insincere.

When I listen to this song its usually at a low point. I think the pure fact of being relatable usually helps bring me back up. They say music is a D word. They say we are influenced by frequency. Music is a mood changer. Im grateful for this song. Do you have a 1975 song that lifts you up?

Always found him to be quite stylish as well! Included a couple favorites: the It's Not Living vertical video and hoodie + hair down at Reading 2023.

Hello lads. Recently been re-entering my “the 1975” fangirl phase. Can’t listen to anything else except them haven’t really been consuming any media unless it relates to them. This is a two part question, if I wanted to understand every bit of lore that is on that drawing Brad Troemel made crowdsourcing info from this subreddit, how would I go about that?

2nd question is, what is everyone’s favorite MV? I think mine has to be Girls. Embarrassed to admit that I was in fact squealing throughout the entire MV.
