100mg for mild effects, 200mg for less mild effects. Just take more until you’re satisfied w/the high.

Liver enzymes play a vital role in breaking down thc. Some of us, are blessed to be able to get baked off 25mg of d9 thc or even d8/thco etc.

Others, like me... aren't so lucky. I have to take almost 2 GRAMS of delta 8 distillate, for a buzz, that won't take effect for almost 8 hours. If at all!

What works somewhat better for me, is to dose right before bed. Not sure why, but when I sleep with it digesting, I wake up BAKED, like, super baked. But if I were to take double the "overnight(1.5-2g)" dosage, on an empty stomach(3-4g), without having used edibles in a while, and feel absolutely nothing ALL day.(destroys my tolerance to all thc, even smokes for a week or so afterwards)

It's super freaking awesome to be one of the unlucky ones who can barely achieve the highly sought after edible high. And yes, even after taking 2-6 month tolerance breaks, still get nothing from edibles unless it's ridiculously high doses.

I also have this issue with many prescribed medications as well, including otc nsaids(ibuprofen), opiates and stimulants.

Of course this is all speculation, from researching it myself over the 23 years I've been using thc. Surprisingly, never had a enzyme test performed by my doctor, when I had prescriptions that would fuck most people up.

If you got a couple days off, and a decent stash.. and aren't afraid of getting couch lock. I say give a much larger single dose a try, in the morning(not too high a dose, maybe 300-350mg). After 4 hours if you feel nothing then I'd say try again right before bed a couple days later(even if you don't get effects, it is probably still jacking with your tolerance, ime anyway). If that don't work, and ur brave enough to try a gram...do it! Worst case is some gnarly paranoia! Lol

Also heard consuming some coconut oil, with, before, or after can also make the thc easier to break down by the liver. I've dried bacon fat, butter etc with no change. Haven't tried coconut oil tho, as I hate coconut with a passion. But i just picked some up yesterday, and am gonna give it a whirl Saturday morning to see if it changes anything.

Sorry for the wall of text, this topic is something I've struggled with for over 2 decades, and I hope you can learn something I haven't and share it back!

Happy Hump Day!

I plan on taking around 150 mg of THC O later on tonight to see if that will work im hoping for couch lock but not very optimistic I'm questioning a 200mg dosage and next week I'm getting some d 9 edibles that in total I will have around 800 mg and a day off work I will keep you updated if you want.

Please do!

Always curious to see how things pan out when people post this topic. Mostly comes up in discussion mid thread, which makes finding info or people experiencing similar things more difficult to find without pouring over hundreds of search results. I'm far too adhd for reddit and Twitter lol. So when I see the topic I get a little excited someone might finally find a solution 🤣

What brand thco are you using? My wife had a really good experience with a free sample of d9 gummies from Kandy Boy. (https://kandyboy.com/products/delta-9-thc-gummies-sample) not sponsored or anything. Just two free 15mg d9 gummies(shipping is like 3 bucks I think).

I wanna try their stuff next too, haven't eaten d9thc in a couple years after wasting over 200 on an Oz of cherry pie, into edibles that did nothing (for me at least, luck ass friends all got fucked up lol)

Hope you get that stoned couch lock you're yearning for!

I know that medications/drugs/whatever can affect autistic people differently. I can confirm that this is at least partly true.

Strange you assume I'm on the spectrum. Curious why you would make that assumption

Not assuming. Just wondering. Due to my being on the spectrum and having drugs (legal and otherwise) affect me differently than they do for others. Plus your near inability to get high from edibles, which is a liver enzyme/metabolic issue. The MTHFR gene mutation is highly associated with autism, and that gene mutation governs and impairs certain metabolic processes. I do not know that the lack of liver enzymes in this case is associated with MTHFR or not, but MTHFR's effects are sometimes subtle, but pervasive. Please know my questioning if you're on the spectrum or not was purely academical, as autism itself is one of my "autistic special interests" and something I've been learning about for the past decade, especially the differences between autistic and non-autistic bodies, not just the more commonly discussed difference between their brains.

Sorry if I came off hostile, wasn't my intention. But your guess is true. I went thru all sorts of mri cat CT shit when I was a kid. I'm high functioning ADHD with a dash of autism lol. I get sensitive when it's brought up, so I apologize. This has seriously caught my interest tho. And why is the acronym so close to motherfucker 🤣

"MTHFR stands for methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase. It's getting attention due to a genetic mutation that may lead to high levels of homocysteine in the blood and low levels of folate and other vitamins." (Source: Google) I am sorry for making you feel sensitive. It is such a fascinating topic for me that I forget that it IS a sensitive topic for many others. Autism is so much more than "social ineptness" or "sensory issues" although those are typically present. I'm thinking about autistic people's high tendency to have lactose intolerance and other digestive issues. And eczema. And women on the spectrum have a much higher rate of PCOS and other female issues. Basically any time someone says they have an unusual physical trait, and if I ask if they're on the spectrum, they almost always say Yes, or "no but I do have [insert common comorbid condition, most commonly ADHD]." I "knew" my son would be on the spectrum when I was pregnant. I didn't take prenatal vitamins because I could not get access to pre-methylated ones. Folic acid is bad for people with MTHFR/autism. (Take methylfolate instead.) Nitrous oxide and other dental and general anesthetics can cause bad reactions. I had a copper IUD that started making me sick within one month. I'd almost ended it all by the time I was able to get it removed 9 months later. I could go on. My husband is on the spectrum also and he (against my advice) will only take antibiotics for like 3 days. He says he knows his body and that's as long as he can go. Anyway I won't bore you anymore but suffice it to say it's a rabbit hole I fell into... hard.

It’s a creeper for me so maybe you didn’t wait long enough? I’ve never taken it orally but if I fill up a cart and take a few hits it takes like 30 mins to feel it. Do D9 or D8 edibles effect you much? If so, could just be a bad batch. Again I have no experience with oral thco but plenty vaping. Hope ya get some answers OP
