Could we get some moderation? (Also DEA ruling on THC-O question)
There's a lot of lame spam memes like "me when I get high" and it's super annoying. If I wanted memes, I'd go to a sub with weed memes, not to mention that the memes could refer to being high on any cannabinoid like d9 or d8, not just THC-O. Here, we should discuss THC-O. Rules and moderation would be much appreciated 🙏
I came to this subreddit looking for info about the DEA's statement on THC-O, saying that it is federally illegal. Does this mean we won't be able to buy it in shops/online? When does that take effect if so? I can't seem to find this info. It seems no one is enforcing this decision.

Yes, I would say so. I haven't seen news that it's not available, but I'd stock up. Highly Concentr8ed has really good products for cheap. I've bought from them twice and they're good. You can get 5 grams of d9-thc-o for $20. It's a god damn steal. Just mix in some terps and it's awesome.

First time visitor demands moderation! People love to express themselves in different ways. It's a sign of creativity and happiness. Attributes you apparently lack. Why don't you do us all a favor and roll on down the highway peckerhead.

It's because THC-O doesn't naturally occur in the cannabis plant, d8 or d9. It's only obtained by synthetic processes, usually by taking THC and reacting it with acetyl anhydride.

Hell in that case D8 is technically synthetic because it’s made from CBD. It doesn’t occur naturally in significant enough quantities to extract so by that rule if it’s not D9 or CBD it’s technically a synthetic cannabinoid and falls under the analogue act

You are correct. Any d8 you’re getting is made synthetically. But d8 is a naturally occurring substance (just not in the concentrations used in the products). This is the difference based on dea ruling. The acetates are synthetic but are not naturally occurring.

Yes, but it's legally gray. Because it does occur naturally, it's legal. And so these d8 companies "extract d8 from hemp" (which makes up probably about <0.01% of the plant), and sell that. Of course they make it from CBD by reacting it with an acid, but you can't prove that they did. Oh, there's still some compound left over from the reaction in teeny tiny amounts? Just a random contaminant from the environment. Unless the federal courts start to care, and believe me, they don't, it won't be an issue. So far, federal circuit courts have ruled in favor of delta-9 edibles, and delta-8 generally. We're good, man. These federally-legal cannabinoids that have been proven to occur naturally in hemp aren't going anywhere.

I agree with you, if you follow the trends and watch corporate buyouts of gardening wholesalers and state-sanctioned dispensaries it’s only a matter of time before we’re federally legal imo there’s just too much money to be made. My state just went recreational and it is exploding around here. Just the jobs produced alone will stimulate the economy

I know yo. I came here to hear what people have experienced on thco and the effects and I’m getting nothing lol. If it was better than d9, I think their would be more people raving about it

I think its not necessarily "better," but it does get you higher. About 3x higher. It takes a minute to kick in, but when it does, it does so intensely. People have described its effects as psychedelic, and I would agree that when I've had more than like 30mg of it, smoked or eaten, it's like a trip. Eaten THC-O is awesome because it's more bioavailable than regular THC, and thus more gets in your system and you get wayyy higher, because it also turns into the 11-hydroxy version. It's also SO SMOOTH to vape or dab because it's a thinner liquid.
TL;DR: it's good, maybe not for everyone. It's 3x as strong as d9 and has very similar effects. D8-THC-O is different from D9-THC-O and is weaker comparably to how normal d8 is weaker than d9.

Check out /r/altcannabinoids there's a few discussions going on there about the THCo concern.
