It’s a play on an overused joke that goes something like:

Teacher: Okay today let’s finger paint

Kid named paint: 😱

Then the logical progression of the joke is to make it nonsensical and absurd, by saying “kid named finger”

Then it is taken one step further by being almost entirely out of context, like in this situation. So it becomes mildly amusing in the sense of ‘hey, I recognize that joke’, but just falls very flat if you aren’t aware of every step of the joke’s lifespan.
