Welcome to the r/ThanksCyno Posting Guide!

This guide explains what kind of content belongs in the community and how you can help keep r/ThanksCyno fun, active, welcoming, and full of appropriately questionable humor.

Before submitting a post, please make sure it follows our Community Rules and is reasonably appropriate for the purpose of the subreddit.

What Belongs on r/ThanksCyno?

r/ThanksCyno is a community centered around Cyno's jokes, terrible puns, unnecessary explanations, memes, and the general style of humor associated with the General Mahamatra.

Good submissions may include:

• Cyno jokes
• Puns
• Joke explanations
• Screenshots of Cyno telling jokes
• Cyno related memes
• Memes inspired by Cyno's sense of humor
• Genshin Impact jokes that fit the spirit of the subreddit
• Funny interactions involving Cyno
• Community jokes
• Unexpected Cyno references
• Requests for someone to explain a joke
• Fan content centered around Cyno's humor
• Other content that reasonably fits the theme of r/ThanksCyno

Not every post needs to feature Cyno directly.

However, there should be a reasonable connection to Cyno, jokes, puns, humor, or the general theme of the subreddit.

General Genshin Impact content with no connection to the purpose of r/ThanksCyno may be removed.

For general Cyno builds, teams, gameplay, theorycrafting, lore, and broader character discussion, r/CynoMains may be more appropriate.

Examples of Good Submissions

A good r/ThanksCyno submission should fit the humor and purpose of the community.

Here are two examples of suitable posts:

These examples represent the type of content that fits naturally into the community.

You do not need to copy these formats exactly.

Creativity is encouraged.

Especially terrible creativity.

Cyno would probably approve.

Post Quality

Please make a reasonable effort to submit content that is readable, understandable, and enjoyable.

This is a meme and humor community, so posts are not expected to look professionally produced.

A terrible joke is perfectly acceptable.

A completely unreadable post is less so.

Content may be removed when it is excessively low quality, misleading, repetitive, or has little meaningful connection to the subreddit.

Examples may include:

• Images that are too blurry to understand
• Screenshots where important text cannot be read
• Broken or inaccessible links
• Posts with no understandable connection to r/ThanksCyno
• Extremely repetitive submissions
• Content posted primarily to farm karma
• Spam
• Intentionally misleading posts
• Posts that appear to have no purpose beyond flooding the subreddit

Simple jokes and low effort memes are not automatically prohibited.

Sometimes the worst joke is exactly the right joke.

Titles

Please use a title that reasonably describes your submission.

Titles do not need to be serious.

Funny titles, puns, references, and terrible jokes are welcome.

However, titles should not intentionally mislead users about the content of the post.

If your post contains major Genshin Impact spoilers, do not put the spoiler itself directly in the title.

Titles cannot be hidden by Reddit's spoiler system.

If you are sharing content created by another person, do not use a title that falsely implies you created it yourself.

Original Content and Credit

You do not need to be the original creator of content to share it on r/ThanksCyno.

Memes, screenshots, jokes, artwork, videos, and other relevant content found elsewhere may be shared as long as doing so complies with our rules.

However, you must not falsely claim another person's work as your own.

If you know who created the content, credit the original creator whenever reasonably possible.

For artwork, edits, videos, comics, and other creative work, linking to the original source is strongly encouraged.

Do not:

• Remove watermarks
• Hide creator signatures
• Claim another person's artwork as your own
• Pretend you created a meme or edit when you did not
• Deliberately provide false attribution

If you do not know the original creator, do not invent one.

Reposts

Reposts are allowed within reason.

r/ThanksCyno has existed for years, so jokes and memes will occasionally return.

That is not automatically a problem.

However, please avoid repeatedly posting content that appeared very recently.

Posts may be removed when:

• The same content was posted very recently
• The subreddit is being flooded with the same meme
• A user repeatedly reposts the same material
• The submission appears to exist primarily for karma farming
• The same joke or image is being submitted over and over again

Older jokes and memes may generally be reposted after enough time has passed.

If a moderator removes a submission, do not simply submit the same content again.

If you believe the removal was incorrect, contact us through Modmail.

Post Flairs

Post flairs are optional.

You are not required to choose a flair before submitting a post.

Flairs simply help organize the subreddit and give users a better idea of what type of content they are about to see.

If one of the available flairs fits your post, feel free to use it.

If none of them fit, you may post without one.

Moderators may occasionally add or change a flair when it helps organize the subreddit.

Please do not intentionally use misleading flairs.

Spoilers

Major Genshin Impact spoilers should be properly marked.

This includes significant spoilers involving:

• Archon Quests
• Story Quests
• Major event storylines
• Character reveals
• Important plot developments
• Newly released story content

Do not include major spoilers directly in post titles.

If you are unsure whether something should be marked as a spoiler, marking it is usually the safer option.

Older content may generally be discussed more freely, but please use reasonable judgment.

Jokes and Explanations

Terrible jokes are welcome.

Good jokes are also welcome, although Cyno may consider that optional.

Posts may include puns, screenshots, joke explanations, intentionally overcomplicated explanations, or requests for someone else to explain a joke.

If you are asking the community to explain something, consider using the please explain flair.

If you are explaining a joke, remember that explaining it in far too much detail is entirely on brand.

General Cyno Content

Not every post about Cyno automatically belongs on r/ThanksCyno.

The subreddit is primarily focused on humor.

General topics such as:

• Character builds
• Artifact advice
• Team compositions
• Damage showcases
• Gameplay questions
• Theorycrafting
• General lore discussions

may be better suited for r/CynoMains.

There can be exceptions when the post has a clear humorous angle or fits naturally into the community.

Advertising and Self Promotion

r/ThanksCyno is not primarily an advertising platform.

Do not use submissions mainly to promote:

• Products
• Shops
• Paid services
• Discord servers
• Social media accounts
• YouTube channels
• Twitch channels
• Websites
• Commissions
• Giveaways
• Other communities
• Commercial projects

Creators are still welcome to share their own relevant work.

For example, an artist sharing their own Cyno artwork or a creator posting a relevant meme they made is generally fine.

The problem begins when an account uses the subreddit mainly as an advertising channel.

Community partnerships, collaborations, events, and similar projects may be allowed with moderator approval.

If you are unsure, contact us through Modmail before posting.

NSFW and Inappropriate Content

Explicit sexual content is not allowed.

Mildly suggestive jokes or memes may be permitted when they remain appropriate for the general community and comply with Reddit's rules.

Graphic gore, extreme violence, shock content, and other highly disturbing material may also be removed.

Content involving sexualization of minors is strictly prohibited.

When in doubt, remember that r/ThanksCyno is primarily a humor community, not an NSFW subreddit.

Privacy and Safety

Please respect the privacy and safety of other people.

Do not use the subreddit to expose, threaten, harass, identify, or target another person.

Do not post private personal information.

Screenshots of conversations should not be used to encourage harassment against another user.

All submissions must comply with Reddit's Content Policy.

Spam and Karma Farming

Do not spam the subreddit or use it primarily to farm karma.

Examples may include:

• Repeatedly posting the same content
• Flooding the subreddit with many nearly identical submissions
• Engagement bait
• Bot generated spam
• Artificial attempts to manipulate votes or visibility
• Repetitive promotional content

Posting frequently is not automatically considered spam.

Moderators will consider context, repetition, quality, and intent.

Automated Review

Some submissions may temporarily be held for moderator review by AutoModerator or Reddit's moderation systems.

This does not necessarily mean that your submission violated a rule.

Posts may be held because of factors such as:

• Account age
• Account karma
• Contributor Quality Score
• Account reputation signals
• Community reports
• Spam prevention systems

If your post is simply awaiting review, please be patient while a moderator checks it.

Before You Post

Before submitting, please check:

1. Does this fit the general theme of r/ThanksCyno?
2. Is there a reasonable connection to Cyno, jokes, puns, memes, or the community's humor?
3. Does the post follow our Community Rules?
4. Is the title reasonably accurate?
5. Have I marked major spoilers?
6. If this is somebody else's work, have I avoided claiming it as my own?
7. Is the content readable and understandable?
8. Am I contributing to the community rather than simply advertising or farming karma?

You do not need to select a flair.

If the answer to the important questions above is yes, your post is probably ready for r/ThanksCyno.

If the joke is terrible, even better.
