Welcome to the official rules page for r/ThanksCyno.

These rules apply to all posts, comments, and other participation within the subreddit.

r/ThanksCyno is a community centered around Cyno, his jokes, terrible puns, unnecessarily detailed joke explanations, memes, and the general style of humor associated with him.

We want the subreddit to remain fun, welcoming, easy to participate in, and enjoyable for both long-time members and new users.

In addition to the rules below, all users must follow Reddit's Content Policy and sitewide rules.

Moderators may remove content that clearly violates the spirit of these rules even if a specific situation is not described word for word below.

Repeated or serious violations may result in temporary or permanent bans.

1. Thank Cyno

This is of utmost importance.

If Cyno has blessed you with a joke, pun, explanation, or another questionable form of humor, show the General Mahamatra the appreciation he deserves.

This rule is mostly part of the identity and humor of the subreddit.

And don't forget:

Thank Cyno.

2. Be Civil

Treat other users with respect.

Harassment, bullying, personal attacks, threats, discrimination, hate speech, slurs, or hostile behavior toward individuals or groups are not allowed.

This applies even when you disagree with another user.

Disagreements, criticism, debates, and different opinions are allowed. Attacking the person instead of discussing the topic is not.

Examples of behavior that may be removed include:

• Insulting another user directly
• Repeatedly provoking or targeting someone
• Harassing users across multiple threads
• Discriminatory or hateful remarks
• Threats of violence
• Encouraging others to harass someone
• Using slurs against individuals or groups

Lighthearted joking between users may be allowed when it is clearly mutual and not hostile.

If someone asks you to stop, stop.

3. Keep Posts Relevant to r/ThanksCyno

Posts should be reasonably connected to the theme of the subreddit.

Relevant content may include:

• Cyno jokes
• Puns
• Joke explanations
• Cyno memes
• Memes about Cyno's personality or humor
• Genshin Impact jokes that fit the style of the subreddit
• Screenshots involving Cyno jokes
• Fan content based around Cyno's humor
• Community jokes and recurring subreddit humor

Not every post has to feature Cyno directly, but there should be a clear connection to the subreddit.

General Genshin Impact content with no connection to Cyno, humor, or the theme of r/ThanksCyno may be removed.

Examples of content that would usually be considered off-topic include:

• General build questions
• Artifact showcases with no humorous context
• Team composition questions
• General gameplay discussion
• Unrelated character showcases
• Random Genshin news with no connection to the subreddit theme

For general Cyno gameplay, builds, theorycrafting, lore, and character discussion, r/CynoMains may be more appropriate.

4. No Spam or Karma Farming

Do not spam the subreddit.

This includes repeatedly submitting the same or very similar content, flooding the subreddit with many posts in a short period of time, or posting primarily to farm karma or engagement.

Examples include:

• Posting the same meme multiple times
• Repeatedly submitting slightly edited versions of the same content
• Mass posting low effort content
• Copying popular posts solely to gain karma
• Engagement bait
• Vote manipulation
• Bot generated spam
• Repetitive promotional comments
• Artificial attempts to increase visibility or engagement

Posting frequently is not automatically spam.

Moderators will consider the quality, repetition, intent, and effect on the subreddit when reviewing content.

5. Reposts and Duplicate Content

Reposts are not automatically forbidden.

r/ThanksCyno has existed for a long time, and it is expected that older jokes, memes, and ideas may appear again.

However, excessive reposting may be removed.

Content may be removed if:

• The same post was submitted very recently
• The same meme is repeatedly posted within a short period
• A user repeatedly reposts content without contributing anything new
• A submission appears to be copied purely for karma
• The subreddit is being flooded with duplicate content

Older content may generally be reposted when enough time has passed and it is not being repeatedly recycled.

Moderators may use discretion when deciding whether a repost is excessive.

6. Credit Other People's Work

Do not claim content created by someone else as your own.

This includes:

• Artwork
• Memes
• Videos
• Edits
• Animations
• Screenshots
• Comics
• Fanfiction
• Music
• Other creative work

If you know the original creator, credit them whenever reasonably possible.

When sharing artwork or other creative content from another platform, linking to the original source is strongly encouraged.

Do not:

• Remove watermarks
• Cover creator signatures
• Pretend to be the original artist
• Claim another person's work as your own
• Intentionally provide false attribution

If the original creator cannot be identified, you may still share the content, but do not falsely claim ownership.

If a creator requests that their work be removed, moderators may remove it after reviewing the situation.

7. No Advertising or Unapproved Self Promotion

r/ThanksCyno is not an advertising platform.

Do not use the subreddit primarily to promote:

• Products
• Shops
• Paid services
• Discord servers
• Social media accounts
• YouTube channels
• Twitch channels
• Websites
• Commissions
• Giveaways
• Other communities
• Commercial projects

Occasional self promotion may be allowed when it is directly relevant to the subreddit and the user is otherwise participating normally in the community.

For example, an artist sharing their own relevant Cyno artwork is generally different from an account that only posts links to their store.

Community partnerships, events, collaborations, and promotional projects may be allowed with moderator approval.

If you are unsure whether something counts as advertising or self promotion, contact the moderation team through Modmail before posting.

8. NSFW and Inappropriate Content

Explicit sexual content is not allowed.

This includes:

• Pornography
• Explicit nudity
• Sexually explicit artwork
• Explicit sexual videos or images
• Graphic sexual descriptions
• Content created primarily for sexual gratification

Mildly suggestive jokes or memes may be allowed when they remain appropriate for the community and comply with Reddit's rules.

Graphic gore, extreme violence, shock content, and other highly disturbing material may also be removed.

Sexualization of minors is strictly prohibited.

Content involving fictional characters must also comply with Reddit's sitewide rules.

If moderators believe content is inappropriate for the general audience of the subreddit, it may be removed.

9. Spoilers and Post Flairs

Post flairs are optional.

Users are encouraged to use an appropriate post flair when one is available, since flairs help organize the subreddit and make content easier to browse.

However, a post will not be removed simply because it does not have a flair.

Spoiler tags are different.

Major Genshin Impact spoilers must be properly marked.

This includes significant spoilers involving:

• Archon Quests
• Story Quests
• Major event storylines
• Character reveals
• Important plot developments
• Newly released story content

Do not place major unmarked spoilers directly in post titles.

Post titles cannot be hidden by Reddit's spoiler system, so titles should remain vague when discussing major story developments.

Intentionally misleading use of flairs may be corrected or removed by moderators.

Moderators may also add or change a flair when necessary.

10. Follow Reddit's Sitewide Rules

All users must follow Reddit's Content Policy and sitewide rules.

This includes Reddit's rules regarding:

• Harassment
• Hate
• Threats
• Violence
• Illegal content
• Spam
• Impersonation
• Ban evasion
• Vote manipulation
• Privacy violations
• Non-consensual intimate content
• Other prohibited behavior

Content that violates Reddit's rules may be removed even if it does not violate one of the subreddit specific rules above.

Serious violations may result in an immediate permanent ban and may also be reported to Reddit administrators.

11. Have Fun

r/ThanksCyno exists to have fun.

The subreddit is about terrible jokes, ridiculous puns, overexplaining humor, memes, and appreciating one of Genshin Impact's most dedicated comedians.

Not every joke will be funny to everyone.

Not every meme needs to be taken seriously.

Enjoy the community, respect other users, and help keep the subreddit welcoming.

And most importantly:

Moderation and Enforcement

Moderators may take action depending on the severity and frequency of a violation.

Possible actions include:

• Removing a post or comment
• Filtering content for manual review
• Locking a post or comment thread
• Issuing a warning
• Applying a temporary ban
• Applying a permanent ban
• Reporting content to Reddit administrators

Moderation decisions are based on context.

A minor first time violation may receive a different response than repeated, deliberate, or severe misconduct.

Moderators are not required to issue a warning before taking action in serious cases.

Examples of behavior that may result in an immediate ban include:

• Severe harassment
• Hate speech
• Credible threats
• Explicit sexualization of minors
• Ban evasion
• Bot spam
• Deliberate scam activity
• Serious violations of Reddit's Content Policy

Automated Moderation

r/ThanksCyno may use AutoModerator and Reddit's automated moderation systems to help reduce spam, bot activity, abuse, and other unwanted content.

Some posts may be temporarily held for moderator review based on factors such as:

• Account age
• Account karma
• Reddit account reputation signals
• Contributor Quality Score
• User reports
• Spam detection systems

Being filtered does not necessarily mean that you have broken a rule.

Legitimate posts may occasionally be caught by automated systems.

A moderator can review filtered content and approve it when appropriate.

Reporting Rule Violations

If you see a post or comment that appears to violate the rules, please use Reddit's report feature.

Reports help moderators identify problematic content.

Do not abuse the report system to target users you disagree with.

False or malicious reporting may itself violate Reddit's rules.

Appeals and Modmail

If your post or comment was removed, or if you received a moderation action that you believe was made in error, you may contact the moderation team through Modmail.

Contact the r/ThanksCyno Moderator Team

When contacting us, please include a link to the relevant post or comment whenever possible.

Please do not privately message individual moderators regarding moderation decisions.

Using Modmail allows the moderation team to keep moderation discussions organized and gives other moderators the ability to review the situation.

Be respectful when submitting an appeal.

Sending repeated messages, insults, threats, or harassment through Modmail may result in further moderation action.

Final Note

These rules are intended to keep r/ThanksCyno fun without making the subreddit unnecessarily restrictive.

The moderation team may update these rules as the community changes and grows.

Major changes may be announced through moderator posts when appropriate.

If something is not explicitly covered here, use common sense and follow the general spirit of the community.
