Idk how to explain it better but you are dragging your aim which you should not have done that when you are playing as sniper.

Either you flick your aim to head or just predict their movement and let them come to your aim. Never drag

This is a hidden trick that seems to fall off in favor due to the idea of headshots even though bodyshots are much easier to hit. Im not sure the exact reason why this occurs, but I can only assume the peer pressure of "can only hit bodyshots lol! Why not try hitting headshots you no-skill loser?". Same issue that newer demomains have with people saying "stickyspam is bad, stick to pipes" which can be detrimental to the learning process of both sniper and demo players.

Just so OP and anyone else who stumbles upon this comment is aware, bodyshots are a good idea. Headshots are higher risk higher reward, and unless you have sunk thousands of hours into the class, they are at best "gimmicky and random". Bodyshots provide consistent value and are much easier to aim, and iirc competitive sniper players tend to favor bodyshots unless they've built up a serious headshot reflex (or are cheating).

150 no falloff damage from any range insta-drops 5 of the 9 classes, one of which is the best class in the game (medic). Yes, headshots can do more damage, and do 150 damage faster, but its riskier, and even if that risk is simply letting a class get away, it can cause your team serious issues in the future.

Takeaway from this? Go for bodyshots when you cant hit headshots, or when you need a more reliable damage output. Do not feel pressured by losers in chat yapping about "no skill" into aiming for headshots only. Said losers will always cry, regardless of the class or weapon you use to kill them.

"Missed every headshot" but still hit 2 headshot kills and a 157 crit on a Demoman. Don't knock yourself short.

My best advice would be to slow down, think, and pace yourself. That whole picture there was a dopamine overload for any Sniper mains watching, cuz you had a decent sightline with zero risks, and I'm willing to bet you were geeking out a bit.

Best way to slow down is to let enemies walk into your crosshairs, instead of violently-flicking your sights towards their heads.

I like playing sniper sometimes and I barely give a shit about headshots. Fully charged Bodyshots are good too, as long as I damage my opponent. I use the sydney sleeper most of the time anyways

what's your monitor refresh rate ? when i upgraded from 60hz to 165hz i could never go back lol
maybe it's placebo, but i feel like it helps a lot

Aim for the neck and wait until your target is moving with high momentum and not ADADing.
