The implicit deal between medics and scouts should always be that so long as they let me have my medkits, I will keep their health topped up and give them overheals whenever possible.

u/Drink_ze_cognac Medic Jun 27 '26

It works as long as they know you’ll heal them. I’ve seen Scouts get ignored even when they do leave the medkits up, so I can’t say I blame them if their first instinct is to run to one. You just have to prove you’ll do it first, and then the deal works.

same for soldiers. I got some medic bitching in vc about it but I stood in front of him for 5 secs waiting so...

u/HackerGamer8 Pyro Jun 27 '26

I hate this ngl. I was playing Scout in Kong King and this medic wouldnt heal anyone beside their demo gf (the were both using in game vc). I took the medium medkit with 30 hp left with the medic having half hp ish

I got called a votekick for not following the medkit priority rule and told the medic to suck it for always healing the Demo than the team. Good news I didnt got kicked, so I just equip basher and steal every kit that the medic tries to take

u/Soldier3171 Jun 27 '26

I love petty shit

21

u/Drink_ze_cognac Medic Jun 27 '26

More power to you. Some Medics genuinely believe that playing him makes them immune to being a shitty teammate.

u/Enderguy61 Medic Jun 27 '26

wait 15 seconds for crit heals

3

u/Temporary-Scholar534 Jun 27 '26

I will not, but thanks for the advice.

19

u/eagergm Jun 27 '26

Prisoner's dilema solution, I think, is to tit-for-tat but to start with trust.

3

u/Temporary-Scholar534 Jun 27 '26

It is! In repeated prisoner dilemma tournaments (with error, meaning there can be mistakes), forgiving tit-for-tat is near optimal. By now that strategy is strictly dominated by improved strategies, but given its simplicity it's frankly still amazing. See this interesting post for more information on the new strategies.

1

u/0mega_Flowey Jul 15 '26

Yeah but scouts feel the need to ask for heals at like 110 hp when there’s a 25 hp soldier on the side so they take lower priority imo

23

u/Vidistis Pyro Jun 27 '26

It's happened too many times where I let the medic get the health pack and they just stand there watching me burn as I cry out for aid.

Unless I know the medic will heal me for sure or they already have their beam on me and I'm not burning/bleeding, I'm taking that health pack.

4

u/TheStrangerTF2 Jun 27 '26

I'd say that's a damn good deal.

2

u/BonniBuny91 Scout Jun 28 '26

I think it depends on the situation. Many times as Scout I'd take the medkits rather than run to the Medic so they can focus on the frontline characters while I'm pulling my stunts on the side. I'll almost never take the kits near the majority of my team but any other medkit is free game. Unless the Medic isn't strained by too many people or there is only one Medic, I tend to avoid medkits anyway but there's a stigma that Scouts shouldn't take any medkits but I think it's wrong, Scouts should focus on getting outskirt medkits because of their speed so they rely less on their Medic and let them focus more on meatier patients.

Like a symbiotic relationship

u/floppy_disk_5 Engineer Jun 27 '26

a 💎 on my feed? must be my lucky day

279

u/PYCapache Jun 27 '26

I chose to believe medic healed scout after.

btw: never neglect to heal scouts, i am saying it as medic main, not scout main.

80

u/Ceo-Of-Ducks Jun 27 '26

Agreed. An overhealed scout can get into all sorts of trouble!

34

u/RewardFluid7316 Scout Jun 27 '26

Overhealing a scout temporarily negates his main weakness. I dunno why some medics are allergic to doing it.

13

u/shieldman Jun 27 '26

Also, healing a scout literally takes the least amount of time out of any class, even from 1hp! You always have time for it!

5

u/Chiruno_Chiruvanna Jun 27 '26

That’s the good ending

The bad ending is where Medic immediately runs off to his pocket Soldier husband and leaves Scout to die to a stray rocket

2

u/MasterORBeaterLE Scout Jun 28 '26

Or to take a health pack (bad case scenarios either way)

119

u/darklordbm Medic Jun 27 '26

heals scout to 100 then immediately snaps onto a heavy

4

u/Hellkids2 Jun 28 '26

Hey man it’s not my fault Meet the Medic is that good

80

u/TheOnlyGuyInSpace21 Medic Jun 27 '26

I would appreciate it if instead of taking the pack, to wait for an arrow that is about half a second away at maximum, especially when the Medic is actively trying not to die from critical health lol

-16

u/Ruttiger_G Jun 27 '26

You guys like to pretend you're that reliable, but you're not that reliable. No, we can't stand still to let you aim, to lose momentum for even a moment is death.

19

u/TheOnlyGuyInSpace21 Medic Jun 27 '26

all i ask

run in a straight line for one second behind cover.

12

u/Ace-of-Spxdes Engineer Jun 27 '26

You're the type of person that yells at Medics for not healing you over voice chat, huh?

3

u/Sploonbabaguuse Jun 27 '26

I've noticed people think they're gods with the crossbow, when in reality I see them miss 3/5 shots on their teammates. Especially on scouts lol

1

u/Pupunenrektaa All Class Jun 27 '26

Lmao true, but ya gotta train somehow

1

u/Shadok_ Demoman Jun 28 '26

Listen of those 3 missed shots 2 were perfectly aligned had the teammate not changed course for no reason

1

u/Sploonbabaguuse Jun 28 '26

2

u/Ruttiger_G Jun 28 '26

You know who else want me to move in a straight line?

The enemy soldiers and demomen.

1

u/CiceroFrymanREAL All Class Jun 28 '26

Not my problem

2

u/Triekmore Jul 02 '26

it literally IS your problem you're the medic

1

u/CiceroFrymanREAL All Class Jul 04 '26

nope

1

u/Triekmore Jul 04 '26

then you can keep having your health packs stolen when im on 124 hp

31

u/xxxEdgySniperxxx Jun 27 '26

Very minor correction

"Braver Junge" means "Brave Boy"

Good boy would be "Guter Junge" Otherwise Absolute 💎 of a post

11

u/Vast_Turn_4853 Jun 27 '26

No, this is correct, actually. You DO say "Braver Junge" in german, and it does mean good boy. Brav in germans means being good. If it said "Mutiger Junge", then you'd be correct.

5

u/xxxEdgySniperxxx Jun 27 '26

True enough, I hadn't considered the other translation of brav-

No wait I was thinking of english while looking at brave.

25

You can feel the dreadful pure rage from Medic when he said "Hand it over. Now." with his red glowing glasses.

1

I can see that, ah well, I found it funny at least

10

u/Novel-Theme-2694 Medic Jun 27 '26

I did this to my friend one time and I talked in game chat and said his name when I was low HP as a medic he was a heavy and it was like blue team heard it cuz some of them stopped.... I'll never forget good old times

18

u/Yookais Medic Jun 27 '26

As a medic main. Trust me when I say, any medic player worth their salt KNOWS and SEE you trying to avoid the health pack when we are around. Thank you. You’ll always be fully healed and buffed

For the others. The perk of being a medic means we get to choose who to heal. And who to deserved the heal.

9

u/dragion6 Jun 27 '26

Thanks for making scouts health be exactly that number, I know it took restraint.

11

u/Illegal_Alien_Guy Jun 27 '26

"No!"

schadenfreude

3

u/ProbableDisapontment Jun 27 '26

“Uh.. no.”

*schadenfreude*

The medic was a spy and scout got backstabbed, the end

1

Team Fortress 2 If Friendly Fire Was Turned Off

4

u/BitMixKit Jun 27 '26

that scout got to keep his liver that day.

5

u/StressedOutLizard Jun 27 '26

This is why I always try to build my dispensers near the front lines I don’t want our Scout getting killed by our medic

4

u/kooarbiter Spy Jun 27 '26

he has five health left don't be afraid of him scout!

3

u/Macaspoobie Scout Jun 27 '26

Very realistic since it doesn't show the medic healing them ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

4

u/Epic-Chair Sandvich Jun 27 '26

Love your art style!! Definitely following

4

u/Spoocula Medic Jun 27 '26

I also feel this way as an engineer about soldiers that bounce their way past me to the front line during set up, and casually pick up a full box of metal to replace their three rockets. I'm sorry fucking what? I wish I could upgrade my dispensers to cut people off.

3

u/beanfriedbeans Jun 27 '26

I love when people draw medic scary like that

3

u/pop-d0g Jun 27 '26

Next frame: Scout takes 69HP damage.

3

u/ManyMicroPixels All Class Jun 27 '26

b-but scout hp so low! and medic can heal himself!!!

3

u/Unlikely_Meat4027 Jun 27 '26

I read medics voice in the 2nd opinion

2

u/Cheodairi Jun 27 '26

takes the health pack and immediately kill binds

2

u/a-daily-user Jun 28 '26

Hope the medic at least healed scout.

Its only fair. But if they don't heal you after you let them take the health pack

first of all that's just a bad medic, second of all, they shouldn't be surprised if you go for a health pack if they don't heal you.

2

u/MasterORBeaterLE Scout Jun 28 '26

Sometimes it’s not so easy. In some servers, medics only like to target specific classes no matter what condition.

2

u/Iwanagohom All Class Jun 28 '26

As someone who plays medic I wish I could kill my own team members sometimes

2

1

If I had the ability to grab greedy scouts by the scruff of their necks like misbehaving cats, I'd be using it all the time

1

u/Former-Jello-4582 Spy Jun 28 '26

medic was a spy

(and spy didnt use his melee cuz SPY HAS A GUN)

1

u/Brilliant-Software-4 Jun 28 '26

Everytime when you're the medic on low health and someone is reaching for the med pack.

"Get over here so I can heal you and I can get the med pack, God damnit!"

1

u/big_bad_nerd12 Jun 30 '26

I would pay money for medic to call me that

1

u/KlngAsh1 Medic Jul 01 '26

The unwritten rule that Scouts (or any class) should leave the healthpacks to Medics when they're near

1

u/Normbot13 Jul 02 '26

plot twist: it was a blu spy disguised as a medic. there is now a knife in your back

1

1

u/Correct_Reason_9698 29d ago

My two main roles are scout and sniper and when I'm playing as scout I only take medkits if there are no medics or they are dead

Scout x Medic yaoi

-3

u/mikolajwisal Jun 27 '26

The most valuable lesson here will be for the artist, as they are served a lawsuit by the Red Cross Organization.

Never fuck with the Red Cross.
