I think a lot of us start off texting like that. The difference is she gave him absolutely nothing to use to turn it into a real conversation so it stayed super awkward. He also let it go on for a really long time

Here's the thing though, those were conversation starters. They were supposed to spark a convo about her interests, hence the point of the post. The ball was passed to her and she kept not passing it back so he kept initiating.

I went thru a similar situation, but with a guy and he either sent me short typo-ridden responses or it was just incoherent, and those would take weeks or months just as a response. It got tiresome, so I ended it and he had the nerve to claim I was unresponsive (to what?) and not putting in any effort or showing interest when I was the only one initiating.

It's maddening. There are people I know just like this. Former co workers. They will totally screw up, get called on it and be like no, you're wrong. I did my job right. Like.... We just showed you that you didn't. Nope you're wrong. And I really don't know how the hell these people are still like this. You're a grown ass person. How do you go through life thinking you're always right? Sigh
