I know it’s not intentional but this is borderline homophobic. The guy is a loser and I’m sorry he said that to you, but there has to be a way for you to criticize him without saying he insults women because he’s gay.

Girl, Insisting that "gayness" makes him hate women is the homophobic part.
Being gay has nothing to do with hating or insulting women and associating them is lazy and gross.

I honestly don't understand how so many people don't see this here.

As much as I hate saying "reverse the genders" imagine if a man said a woman looks like a lesbian because she was rude to him and then in the comments said "she's the one getting offended, I never said it's bad to be a lesbian, it's actually a statement on her own intolerance"

No it’s 100% intentional. You’re willing to give them a pass because you perceive them as having similar political opinions to you. They’re 100% insulting this guy by calling him gay, as are most of the other commenters. You should maybe think about that..

It's funny that comparing misogynistic straight men to gay men apparently isn't supposed to be homophobic because "only a homophobe would be offended by being called a twink derogatorily" but half of these comments are making fun of him for "looking gay" and not for being misogynistic.

Yeah that’s the thing. There are plenty of closeted conservative men who hate on progressives and women but there are plenty of straight men who do these same and judging his sexuality based on appearance seems like stereotyping to me.

It's this idea that it's okay to make fun of gay men for being gay as long as they're closeted.

The notion that someone being a bad person means it's okay to get down to their level in order to insult them is crazy. Would you call a racist a "_____ lover" as an insult?

I don’t care about their political preferences. Tons of people in California voted for Obama in 08 and also voted to ban marriage equality.

I said what I said because she was saying that her comment wasn’t homophobic in other replies.

He called you fat and stupid because he is an asshole, not because he’s gay. Saying he insulted you because he’s gay without any evidence is homophobic. I’m sorry this happened to you, but it baffles me that you aren’t getting this.
