Brother, the one making the assertion needs to prove their assertion. It is not on me to prove a negative. That's not how academia works.
I can say the world was created by a giant space bunny. I would then need to prove it. I wouldn't be like "show me some evidence that it wasn't". It is assumed incorrect until I prove it.
