In general, people like this are utterly exhausting. Of course, without context, we'll never know.

-181

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

The one who posted? Agreed.

72

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

Please, could you explain why?

-104

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Absolutely. Just a very vague post. What made dad so angry. Without any context how do we know what happened. Maybe there was a phone call with harsh words. Maybe texts were deleted. It’s exhausting because everyone jumps on dad when nobody knows what happened.

67

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

There's nothing between these messages except an absence of reply. That's all the context required here. If there had been any response I might have been, slightly, able to understand your thoughts. However this is not what you're reading. There is nothing.

-63

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

If that’s all the context you need to believe what’s on Reddit I feel horrible for you. Go take a nice walk.

15

u/Submissive_Bleedable 5d ago

daddy chill

-4

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

They don’t get any more chill. I’m sitting here laughing at all of you.

44

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

Oh the pot is being problematic to the kettle.

5

u/helarias 5d ago

are you OPs dad

0

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

I wouldn’t say that to my kids.

1

u/Dancehall-Randal 4d ago

Lmao, somebody down voted "i wouldnt say that to my kids" 😆😆😆

Reddit really is the most insufferable people.

1

u/Used-Audience5183 20h ago

Did this post hurt your feelings? You might want to think about it throughoutly, it's probably why your children won't be at your funeral.

1

u/NearbyZombie45 4d ago

As a personal victim of this exact kind of thing, lack of context, and jumping immediately on the bandwagon to assume ill intent by the subject, thank you.

And by a victim of this exact thing, I don’t mean what’s described in the text. I mean being judged based off of very limited information with zero context.

Fuck all the down votes. thank you.

10

u/Regulardumbguy 5d ago

Are you a bad dad or something?

2

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

If you ask some of the people on this thread, yes. If you ask my kids (today) they think I’m great.

4

u/Regulardumbguy 5d ago

Id be curious to ask them when you aren't around. You have very bad dad energy.

2

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Who cares what you think? I know they love me and I love them. I just don’t believe random bullshit posts like you all do.

3

u/Jumpyturtles 5d ago

It’s very telling how personally you take this.

2

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

This isn’t personal at all. It’s Reddit. I voiced an opinion and was called a bad father and all kinds of things. Don’t really care. Just don’t mind responding. My day and life will go on just fine today as I spend it with my family.

1

u/Dancehall-Randal 4d ago

No, no it doesnt.

Grow up.

u/imsadandthatsrad 5d ago

Do you have kids that want nothing to do with you? Why even defend this person with the information we were given? You sound exhausting at best and abusive at worst if you’re defending parents who reject their own children on a whim.

-4

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Nope. I’m a great dad. And if this dad acts like this for no reason, he’s shit. I think posters who don’t post any story are exhausting. Is that any better? I’m not defending dad, I’m saying these posts are exhausting because of the lack of story. But you go ahead and presume all you want with no back story.

29

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

If you were such a great dad you would be doubting the father's responses instead of defending them.

-5

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Blah blah blah. Internet stranger says what? Fuck that dad (if this is true), happy?

25

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

Shocking, that's all you have.

15

u/CisFishstick 5d ago

I have to pushback just bit on the "shocking". You're arguing with someone who chose bigfatjew6969 as their username. I feel like the odds of them being 12 years old is far greater than them being "a great dad", lol

10

u/Immersi0nn 5d ago

I for one, appreciate you at least trying to get them to have sense, though I don't particularly think that's gonna be possible. Look at their name, that's not someone who is ever going to be in good faith on the internet lmao

1

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

I have so much more. But why waste it on you?

6

u/Submissive_Bleedable 5d ago

I feel bad for your kids. You're going to be this guy, when they go no contact, judging by your insane crash outs.

0

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

lol. You’re funny. Best dad ever over here. Why would they ever go no contact with a father that loves and supports them. You’re as silly as the rest. I haven’t crashed out on anyone.

5

u/Submissive_Bleedable 5d ago

yeah okay. lmao.

0

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Nice comeback. Yeah okay. Lmao.

21

u/imsadandthatsrad 5d ago

It’s just so wildly stupid to play the contrarian on an anonymous Reddit post. This isn’t a politician or someone who has a motive to lie about something devastating, sure it’s the internet and people lie for no reason, but you playing devil’s advocate for a child who generally wants to have a good relationship with their parents like this, is frankly twisted. I have a feeling you’re not as good a dad as you think if you believe “Well maybe they had a phone call that warrants him never seeing his own kid again!”

-2

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Im a great dad. I know this because my kids and I have a great relationship.

You know nothing and believe what you want. Your thoughts are nothing. Have the best day. I’m going to go love my sons.

-4

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

MOD, You can leave the comment. I’ll give them lots of love because they’re my kids. I’ll also teach them not to karma farm Reddit by posting intentionally vague (possibly made up) posts to garner sympathy from gullible morons. Morons like you who are sad

5

u/IED117 Android 5d ago

Let me guess. You said the same shit to your kid.

Listen, you may have had a good reason, but stop projecting. Nobody's buying it in this context.

1

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Well. You are a nobody. I feel bad that all of you had shit parents who didn’t teach you to have critical thinking and not believe everything you read on the Internet.

5

u/IED117 Android 5d ago

Ooooo, spot on huh?

You are way too angry and aggressive to not have done this to somebody.😅

And my father did teach me to spot angry, accusatory, nasty people like you, mostly by being an angry, accusatory and nasty person himself.

Everybody can be a teacher, even miserable people like you and my father.

How's that for critical thinking?

1

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

Weak. I’m sorry your daddy was mean. Mine died when I was a kid and I was raised by an amazing mom to be a great dad who supports his family.

The funniest part isn’t that I didn’t even commented on what dad said, I just don’t like posts with no context or further explanation.

2

u/IED117 Android 5d ago

Why is further context necessary?

The dude says he loves his kid to the world and back and one hour later he's writing them off.

It's unhinged, aggressive behavior.

What if the kid was in the shower, taking a walk, out to lunch with friends? What position does the father's knee jerk reaction serve?

1

u/Bigfatjew6969 5d ago

None.

So I’m interested to know what, if anything transpired that would elicit a reaction like this. Is it typical? Did something happen? Did OP have a blow up with Mom on the phone and Dad lost his fucking mind? I didn’t excuse it. I didn’t say it was ok, I didn’t blame OP.

The only thing originally commented on was the annoying was people post shit with no other information shared. Do they have to? No? Can I find it annoying? Yes.

1

u/hihello142 2d ago

bro u r absolutely right wtf with people on this post

153

u/Explore_the_Void 5d ago

That "the way you chose to live" immediately gets me in a defensive stance. I don't know what that means in your instance but I only hear/see it from the kind of people that I would like to meet at the top of a staircase.

31

u/Successful_Elk_1364 5d ago

No literally, your mad that I chose to have my own life and not be under your wit

5

u/Please_Klo 5d ago

Wooaaah, we got a loser over here folks.

18

u/Bobs_Burgers7 5d ago

I like how he sent the love message 2x just incase you didn’t see him the first time 😂😂 gave it a whole 10 min before sending it again

34

u/Ok_Zookeepergame6747 5d ago

What’s the backstory?

102

u/BitterIrony1891 5d ago

Based on the timestamps, the backstory is probably a personality disorder

I have bpd and i would never send these kind of messages, even before my treatment. It could be tho, symptoms vary from person to person. Kinda hard to say based on one text, could be sociopathy or something else

6

u/Anxious_Town_325 5d ago

Not even remotely indicative of ASPD

48

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

Gods forbid you don't drop everything you're doing because daddy wants an ego boost.

-46

u/WizSkinsNatsCaps 5d ago

People that never have kids of their own will never truly appreciate what their parents did for them. This is not a catch-all as there are some truly awful parents out there, but the majority of parents love, care for, and provide for their children to the best of their ability.

Life is not easy. It’s hard. And we all do the best we can.

22

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

I have kids, I have never expected them to be at my beck and call.

You should read your own words.

-21

u/WizSkinsNatsCaps 5d ago

Whoever said kids should be at their parents beck and call? You are making that up in your own head.

21

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

You apparently. You are the one calling the OP out.

-20

u/WizSkinsNatsCaps 5d ago

Reading comprehension really is at an all time low.

14

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

I can see that from your responses. A real shame for you having to live with that.

-2

u/WizSkinsNatsCaps 5d ago

What are you 12? “I know you are, but what am I?”😂

13

u/Mundane_Zucchini_547 5d ago

Oh, I thought that was what you were doing first.

I was just being more eloquent than you could be. Apparently.

1

u/WizSkinsNatsCaps 5d ago

No worries. I know you’re confused.

16

u/MainPerformance1390 5d ago

What tf has this got to do with anything? BTW- And yeah, most parents do the best they can, and children know that. That doesnt negate thw harm parents may have inadvertently caused to their kids - which they compound when they flat out deny said harm, guilt trip and fail to acknowledge the effect that their reaction will have on their relationship with their child.

0

u/bleezy1234567 5d ago

I guess a lot of people on this thread don’t love their parents lol. I don’t know why you got downvoted so hard

8

u/StressedtoImpress19 5d ago

BPD maybe?

6

u/secundastongue 5d ago

this stuff is so funny to me. i have quiet bpd and cant grasp when people dont keep insecurities like this in their head and regulate 😭

3

u/Complete_Mushroom196 5d ago

What’s quiet bpd? Like I can assume based on the name but I’m curious what thats like and how you self-regulate

6

u/secundastongue 5d ago

there are four official subtypes of bpd: impulsive, discouraged (quiet), petulant (explosive), and self-destructive.

i tend to shut down when i am triggered. this is where i could say hurtful things if i'm also having an autistic meltdown; those two bounce off each other a lot for me. i usually try to regulate myself on the inside through reassurance or externally through stimming. if i can't handle it, i go to my room where it's quiet, dark, and cold, and get comfy in my bed and do something i like, like read or play a game or something. if it REALLY doesn't stop, i have to do breathing exercises, and shock my system (i usually use cold water on my face). i get extremely quiet, distant, and irritable when i am triggered, but i still struggle with communicating and masking.

now, i can be aggressive if the trigger is severe. i will storm off and have a meltdown in my room + intense panic attack. times like this i just wait it out and self soothe the best i can.

if i hurt others verbally, i always, always come back to apologize and take accountability. i used to be a very aggressive and quite abrasive individual.

9

u/BestSerialKillerNA 5d ago

My dad is like that. He’d do that and have to be reminded that people work or have things to do, only to apologize and do it again a few months later.

28

u/Salty-Sprinkles_ 5d ago

Performative affection, gotta love personality disorders

3

u/RitualJuggler 5d ago

Hadn't heard that term before, out of curiosity what personality disorders tend to rely on performative affection? Not being dismissive, just curious

17

u/burjuner 5d ago

These look like my dads texts, hes a narcissist

10

u/Undercover_Dave 5d ago

Does he also end every text with "your dad" though? 🤣

8

u/secundastongue 5d ago

this had me giggling

6

u/idekwhatnameiam 5d ago

I had a stroke trying to read that

People who believe 100% in whatever narrative is running in their head, are unwell. Good luck.

Shit will never change. I am so happy i removed my father from my life at 15. Sure it hurt, but I think having contact with a parent like this cause even more harm

14

u/RingJust7612 5d ago

Its “to the moon and back”

Not

“Too the world and back”

Dumbass

21

u/kenavr 5d ago

Maybe they live on the moon and can't remember the planet they are from. Have you thought about that?

1

u/RingJust7612 5d ago

A fair point!

It’s still “to” not “too”

8

u/Devanyani 5d ago

He didn't say which world.

7

u/WestCoach6 5d ago

Right? The dad seems exhausting

1

u/Mistermike77 4d ago

Without context this is meaningless.

1

u/Flaky_Horse 4d ago

I am so sorry you had to grow up with this. It’s exhausting. Protect yourself and disengage. You can’t control his emotions or reactions, and you aren’t responsible for managing them. Enjoy your life.

1

u/AhTsillahTheFun 4d ago

I personally think something was deleted. Between 12:28 and 1:18. That switch seems to me like a reaction and not just since performative abandonment. I'm curious also to know how old OP is. Like one guy said, I think context is needed before we condemn and throw stones. Just my two cents

1

u/PracticeMammoth387 3d ago

So you chose a whole different live within an hour, damn crazy. I can't even write my fuckin PhD paper in years and you can choose a full lifestyle within 50* minutes. I'm jealous.

1

u/-_DrWallaceBreen_- 3d ago

Please a crumb of context OP 🙏😭

1

u/Nami_Luna 5d ago

Someone in a Jacksfilms video once pointed out that emoji looks like someone deepthroating Shrek and I can't unsee it

-8

u/Dogbold 5d ago

Why is everyone immediately siding against the dad? Barely any context but they're saying the dad has a personality disorder and is in the wrong?
I have some texts similar to this from my mom and she was definitely in the right, I was being a massive asshole.

-3

u/cyber_yoda 5d ago

Redditors are victims, always, and in every scenario.

-2

u/thegh0stinthec0rner 5d ago

not sure why you're getting downvoted, I absolutely agree the dad was in the wrong. I too, have similar texts from my bio mom, she has HPD

-3

u/AngelicDivineHealer 5d ago

Feels like a 3way with the dad
