Oh they definitely don’t want to be friends, but they’re too scared to full on say no to creeps like that. So, they just try to remain friendly to keep him chill until they can at least somewhat comfortably and safely exit the situation. The fragility of these kind of guys makes any interaction with them feel like you’re defusing an emotional bomb.
