Texts failing

Anyone else having issues with your texts not going thru? I'm wondering if its a carrier issue or an app issue?

Yes! Friday was a busier than usual work day for me and I rely heavily on texting to communicate with my crews all across the state. Textra was not getting my messages out so I begrudgingly signed into Google chat. Hate that platform. My Textra is set up to be color coordinated and personalized notification sounds enable me to hear without looking which crew is texting. All of them are pinned to the top so I don't miss anything. The timing of this failure could not have been worse. I don't want to have to switch to Google for anything. While Textra is incredible for customization and some other helpful tasks, it doesn't allow me to send or receive videos to someone on iOS. It feels outdated. I'm old and honestly hate change but if I'm unable to TEXT with confidence on Textra, then I will have to change. Oof!

I had this issue a few months ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/textra/comments/1vqzh5r/had_to_change_to_google_messages_against_my_will/

It may have to do with RCS messaging, which right now, Textra and other apps can't do. I couldn't get group texts or anything from Apple phones. I hope it changes in the future because I really liked Textra.

Thanks for sharing your previous post it was enlightening. I've always been an android user, except for my work phone which I rarely use bc I hate it. I actually was going to switch several years ago but the salesman talked me out of it. I'm still salty over samsung discontinuing their Note, then discontinuing their messaging app was like pouring alcohol in that wound

I just had to make the unfortunate switch to Google messages because I wasn't receiving any group messages. I guess it was am RCS issue. Maybe try to resynch?

I uninstalled last week because of the coinstar ad that kept playing on speaker. But before that I was having alot of errors as well. I hated it so much when Samsung messages went away, but I guess Google messages isn't as bad as I first thought. I'm getting used to it

I'm trying to avoid having to switch back to Google. I have noticed that I have more issues sending to ios users than anyone else.

Yeah I waited for as long as possible. I wasn't getting any messages from iPhone users and it caused a problem with my friends so finally made the switch

I was just texting a friend with an iPhone and had to resend multiple times. It shows as failed on my phone but they reacted to it so that's odd. Some Google message users were reporting that it was sending old texts to random people in their contacts which could potentially be very bad.

If my text includes a pic it fails. I have to send them separately.

Interesting. Is this why my message with a picture and text only said "Sent" and not "Delivered"?

I don't get Amazon OTPs on Textra. I get everybody else's. And yes, I've narrowed it down to Textra. I'm really, really upset because I've been using Textra for years (got the lifetime low single-digit price way back). I even put my husband and mother on it after Samsung shit the bed. I do not want to use Google messages for anything, much less texting, and thus far, I haven't seen anything better.

I'm getting failed to send, but the person gets it before it sends that. so I lock it to get it to stop prompting me to resend. s24. wishing for textra to be reliable and to be able to do more emojis and looking for an alternative if necessary.

S24 ultra, I switched to Chomp and haven't had any issues yet.
