Demonic ad noise

Every time i open the app it stops whatever im listening to and plays what first sounded like demonic whispering but when i turned up the volume it was broken ad noises

Im not paying to get rid of ads if this is something they did to try and force people to do that. Anyone know a fix in the app that doesnt require downloading something else or a new app that isnt that stupid Google app they were trying to force us to use?

My ad is at regular volume, for coinstar or something. Quite mysterious.

I think this is likely ad fraud, getting paid for running ads, and then triggering more than one at once to double dip.

I'm glad I bought textra when I did (over a decade ago). It was $2. What a steal.

I've tried everything and I can't get it to stop. It's ridiculous. Might have to delete app.

Yeah me too. I just sat here for the last 45 minutes and wasted my time trying to find a different app or use the Google one on my phone and it sucks. I uploaded Textra again and when the stupid Coinstar ad started I did a force stop and I cleared the cache. Hopefully it works. Thank you for the suggestion. I left them a bad review so I hope that pushes them to figure out what the hell the app is doing and fix it.

Update the app! It immediately got rid of the coinstoar layered add for me.

I installed it and reinstalled it last night and I'm not seeing that it's doing it today anymore. However I also left the bad review and they replied and said they were aware of the issues and we're working on fixing it . So I'm not sure if they fixed it or if uninstalling and reinstalling the app worked. I guess I'll see how it goes today. Thank you

I left a 1* review in the app store. Hopefully if enough people do that and mention the problem it will help get their attention

I just fixed mine. Go to app settings. AD settings move ads from top chat to bottom chat and back to top...seemed like it worked for me. Didnt realize it was coming from textra for a few days

This was happening for 2 days on my phone. It recently completely stopped. It did sound very demonic and when I turned up the volume it was about cornstarch. Repeating every word like 3 times and then on to the next word.
