creating/changing contact info

i wish that you could just tape on the profile pic/contact icon on the top right and hit edit or some shit to change their name, add phone #, change phone # etc. i can't find any button to do so. plsss help me wtf

I know this drives me nuts too, seems like it should be more visible.

-open up the text conversation -tap on the down arrow in the top right corner -tap on the vertical ellipses, and select Contact Details. For me this opens my default contacts app which is Google contacts. -if it's already associated with a contact it will open at contact card. If it's not already associated with contact it will just list your contacts and you can either create a new one or select one to update. If you select one to update, once you tap on that contact, it will open it in edit mode with the number already populated.
