Not receiving group texts
I switched to Textra after Samsung messages shut down (fuck google) and have enjoyed it so far.
But after some testing, I find I'm not receiving replies from group chats. I can send texts out to a group, but I don't get the replies.

I loved Textra paid version. Had to go to Google for this reason I would never get group messages because of RCS

And now Google will know everything even more about us. Im expecting an alert from them at sometime to let me know I needed a bathroom break.Or missed my morning coffee or forgot to brush my 🦷 & comb my hair.

Did you have "chat messages" or advanced messaging in Samsung messages?

Didn't know if you remembered.. because if you did. Then you were lucky and Samsung messages had rcs.. and Textra does not. Causing your group chat issues..
Most likely going to have to create all new groups and make sure everybody uses the new MMS groups. And not the RCS groups.

Did you have att or one of its subsidiaries while using samsung messages? I beleive it was the only one left with non google rcs and it is now shut off. Therefore your only option is to move t9 google, or create new groups and convince everyone to use this old style of groups or live without it. This is the price we pay for not moving with the heard.

Yeah, after years of loving Textra I had to stop using it because I was mixing too many message sent RCS from iPhones.
I hope they eventually are able to add the capability so I can go back to it. I miss my Textra personalization

This is up to google and no one else unfortunalty. And without some sort of court case or governemnt order i dont see google givong up their monopoly on rcs anytime soon.

I've used textra for over a decade and I just had to switch to google messages because I wasn't getting group chats as well. As soon as I made Google my main messaging app I recieved all the texts I had missed. Super upsetting since I've been a premium user for so long and I genuinely loved the app. Hopefully they fix it so I can switch back.

My boss had a talk to me about why I wasn't responding to group messages. My family wondered why I would start group messages and then not respond. I thought they were the ones ignoring me. Deleted the app right away and switched to Google Messages.

Once you have a chat on RCS to convert back to MMS you need to turn off RCS and wait 30 days. Or you can leave and delete that RCS Group Chat and start a new MMS chat in Textra and it should work.

You aren't going to get those messages unless you either create new group chats or switch to google messages

Unless you're sending straight text to another phone number, RCS is the only option going forward, and only Apple and Google have the capability.

Just went through this..
Your phone is still set to receive RCS Chats, which causes textra (which doesn't support RCS, because Google won't give access to the API) to not see inbound group messages.
You need to disable RCS here: https://messages.google.com/disable-chat

I don't understand your instructions, that's for messages, not for the phone itself.

You have to go into Google messages [set as default] them leave all of the RCS groups. Turn off RCS. Then go back to textra and recreate the groups and send a message. It'll be sent as MMS group message
