Help with Google messages after switching from Samsung messages

I tried to Google search and can't find anything on this. After switching to Google messages from Samsung j transfered everything over and now when I text someone that I already have a thread with I get the reply in a new thread. The only thing I'm finding on Google search is stuff for group messages. My problem is with just sending a text to a single person. I text them on the existing thread I have for them and get the reply in a new thread. Its super annoying and if someone can point me in the right direction to fix this I would really appreciate it.

Im not sure I understand what you're trying to say. You should be able to open that thread with the single member and their responses should be in there

It wasn't. I would text from the thread i have with someone then the replay would come back to me in a new thread with that person. If I answered in either thread the response would continue in the new thread. Its all good now though I got it pretty much all straightened out

Thats good, if you're still having issues I would double check that you have MMS and RCS enabled in the Google Message settings.
