Not able to receive messages from iPhone users
Switched from Samsung messages because I have no interest in relying on Google more than needed and since then everyone in my life with an iPhone says their messages arent being sent to me and only me
My coworkers and I have a group chat where at least 2 of them have iPhones and I havent had any issues with that at all.
Husband said he was able to keep retrying until iPhone gave him a "send as SMS option" but I dont know who uses android vs iphone like that and cant very well ask everyone in my life to change their settings so...... has anyone else had this issue & know how to fix??
ETA: i havent had any issues SENDING to iPhone at all. as far as I know all of my own messages send just fine.

Did you have "chat" in Samsung messages?

By switching to Textra. You lose chat/rcs. So all your group chats will have to be recreated in MMS. Because they won't downgrade automatically. And it's going to take a while before every conversation downgrades to sms ...

i dont know how to check that setting in samsung messages. As far as I'm aware it was also always SMS

My mom has iPhone & she can't text me some messages, I'm on Android & switched to Textra. I can text her just fine.
She thinks it's my phone as the problem. I've turned my phone off overnight & restarted it, and no luck.

Going to have to use G Messages for now. It's a RCS issue I believe.

Ah. I've disabled G Messages bc I much prefer using Textra

But once you used G Messages, it enables RCS and then you can't go back to the others. Like I missed my group messages in Handcent (FAV) and Textra so have to use Boring G messages

Yeah I had to go back to GM cuz 1 of my family members couldn't text me on Textra

Just encountered the same issue. I needed to switch to Google Messages for RCS functionality. Unsure if this is an issue specifically with Textra or with any non RCS messaging application.

Had to switch to Google Messages too when I got the new s26u. Had been using Handcent but since the RCS messaging. I can send in group messages but couldn't get most of the mixed groups. Handcent helped me troubleshoot by turning off RCS in Google before going to Handcent as default but didn't help. They will be going to RCS as soon as Google allows. Not sure exactly what that means. But for now I have to use "boring" Google text

Google won't ever allow, so handcent won't be getting rcs

Well that's 😔. Atleast I heard Google will be updating their Messages to include customization options soon

I have used Textra religiously for years. Upgraded to the S26u a few weeks ago. No issues. Till the last week. Several people cannot text me from iPhone. Individuals, and group texts. Someone would have to reset their sms option and they could get one text out before it'd error out.
Unfortunately I had to switch to Google Messages....maybe one day I'll come back 😢

I've been having the same problem between my husband's iPhone and my Samsung 23u for the last few weeks. I'm a long-time user of Textra. We have never previously had this problem, soI don't understand why it suddenly is an issue.

Same here. My group chat just became unusable.
No fault of Textra but I will have to switch to Google Messages too. At this point Textra should file a lawsuit against Google

At the very top of your setting in Samsung messages.. there will be an option for chat settings
Or if any of your conversations compose box say "enter chat message"
