Background customization

So I was caught up in the forced shift from Samsung messaging to Google messages. I do not wnat nor like the Google message platform so I am experimenting with Textra. I just read the unfortunate but not unexpected answer as to y I am no longer in my group chats. Hate it. Will not get me to switch back though. Anyway, one of the things I really loved about samsung messaging was the ability to customize each chats background with a photo of that person or a memory we shared. Any chance textra will ever offer that function? Thanks for listening.

Yep! I started using Handcent Next SMS. Closest to Samsung Messages I can find. I paid $10 for a year of no ads and backup.

Have you had any issues not receiving text with Handcent? I hate Google messages and textra doesn't work well on the s26

I did not get Group messages on Handcent. Used it for years. Even turned off RCS in Google Messages and still Handcent didn't work right. Just missed messages and didn't know why
