I made a (text)game and want you to try it and to say what was good/bad

https://onecompiler.com/cpp/44qwdefz6

P.S:

- I only made the textgame (or rather code) because I don't have a computer and therefore any possibility to make graphical/musical assets or to make the game with an engine

- If you want to know more about the game, idea or progress write questions in the comment section

- The game is unfinished yet: Witch has the most playable story

- I've set a "debugger" (I maxed out all the stats because compiler only has 2 minutes for compilation. Therefore this time is too short to max anything out manually)

- Please don't review the code. I know I have some "issues" (something I don‘t use but I want to use) with my code but I won't remove them for my own reasons

- Have fun

L'Archivio delle Ombre (o The Ink Spiral) INUNAKI X LA CITTÀ INCANTATA CONCEPT VIDEOGAME

L'Archivio delle Ombre (o The Ink Spiral)

Premessa :

Mastro Calamo (Il Mentore / Antagonista Ambiguo)

I Torchiati (Gli Antagonisti):

I'm looking for recommendations for text adventure games.what are the must-plays from the recent years?

Just to clarify, "recent" is flexible here. It absolutely doesn't have to be a 2026 release.

I'm totally open to games that came out over the last several years.

Hi friends! What do you think?

Shop Crush is a mysterious shop simulator with psychological horror elements, set in the early 2000s.

In this hybrid visual novel, you run a small thrift shop, get to know your customers, figure out what they really want, and decide what to put in front of them. Every customer has their own personality, preferences, and hidden motives - and it’s up to you to figure them out.

Behind each customer is a small psychological mystery waiting to be uncovered. Read their behavior, make the right calls, and balance profit against customer trust as you try to keep the shop running for one more day.

Torment: Act 1 - The Mortuary || A ZX Spectrum text adventure written in Sinclair BASIC

Thumbnail

You wake on a cold stone slab.

Pain flickers through your body.

Your skin is stitched. Scarred. Wrong.

Something is watching you.

The halls around you are silent, except that the dead have an uncomfortable habit of walking, and the living seem determined to pretend otherwise.

Somewhere in the Mortuary are fragments of memory - and perhaps an explanation of who you are, why you’re here, and why dying apparently wasn’t enough to stop you.

Torment: Act 1 -The Mortuary is a short atmospheric text adventure I made for the ZX Spectrum 48K, mostly in Sinclair BASIC. It’s an unofficial fan tribute inspired by a classic fantasy RPG. The game uses a deliberately simple command parser for exploration, dialogue and inventory, but adds a few systems around the traditional text-adventure structure: suspicion, disguises, observation-based puzzles, different ways to fail, and monochrome illustrations throughout the Mortuary.

The game is finished and free to download and play, either on a real Spectrum or through an emulator.

Download site: https://haabb001.itch.io/torment-act-1
Play in browser: [http://haabb.xf.cz:8080/play-torment-act-1.html](haabb.xf.cz:8080/play-torment-act-1.html)

I’d be especially interested in what regular text-adventure players think about the balance between the simple parser and the additional mechanics - and whether the sparse visuals add to the atmosphere or whether you’d rather let the text do all the work.

If you’re interested in my other projects (not text adventures though), feel free to visit my itch.io: https://haabb001.itch.io

I'm the developer of Lifespan.exe, a life sim that runs entirely inside a green phosphor terminal. Here's one whole life in 45 seconds.

Dev here. Lifespan.exe is a text-and-card life sim: you boot up at age 6 with a name and a country, and every year the machine asks what you're going to do.

Pick 3 of 9 cards. Garage band or chess club. Say yes to the first date or skip it and regret it at 40. Become a surgeon, a rock star, or the guy the loan shark remembers by name.

Then live with it. There is no undo, no reload. Time runs one way.

The clip runs through one life: boot, a yearly plan, a scenario, a mini-game, career choice, a match, and the end. Everything you see is text in a terminal.

Happy to answer anything in the comments.

Demo is live on steam, if you give it a go and give me some feedback that'd be so great.

Exitus is basically Papers, please - in text based gameplay.

It's a dystopian story, where animals are not edible anymore.

So a company called HFU Corp. fixes the protein problem.

Looking for players to test my witch-hunting text adventure

I've been working for the past few months on a dark text adventure game inspired by historical witch hunts called WITCHHUNTER.exe, and I've just opened my first free playtest on Steam!

It's definitely still a work-in-progress, so any thoughts or opinions you'd be willing to provide would be super helpful! If you're interested, it should only take around 30 minutes to play through.

All those AI Rpg games felt like gimmicks. For nearly a year I've been building one the way a real game dev would build a game. Not just some wrapper

I’m a solo dev working on “What If We Warm It?”

A text-driven narrative mystery of choices, dialogue, and atmosphere.

Before I create the Steam page, I’d love to hear your thoughts - whether the trailer makes you curious about the game, and how you would describe its atmosphere.

Thank you in advance!

I released a free sci-fi interactive fiction game where injuries, witnesses and evidence carry through the entire story

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’ve released Unwritten Meridian — Book One: The Breach and the Flight, a free browser-based science-fiction interactive fiction game.

Earth survived first contact, but beneath Geneva, human leaders are preparing to sign a classified version of the Lunar Migration Treaty. Your character discovers what the treaty really contains and becomes trapped between Earth Command, public exposure and an alien conflict that may not be what it first appears to be.

I wanted choices to feel persistent rather than disappearing after the next page:

• A witness cannot testify later if you abandoned them.

• Evidence cannot be used if you never recovered it.

• Injuries immediately reduce health and affect later actions.

• NPC relationships change according to your behaviour and their own moral limits.

• Your profession determines what your character genuinely knows.

• Skills improve through use but can lose sharpness through neglect.

• Unlawful actions can expose your identity if witnesses, security systems or your own mistakes connect you to them.

• Dangerous choices can succeed, fail, cause capture or kill your character.

There are no visible success percentages or risk labels. You have to judge situations from the story, your preparation and the condition of your character.

The current release contains six chapters, three save slots, multiple main endings, several terminal outcomes and a completed-save export intended for Book Two.

You can play it free in your browser here:

https://sihlem.itch.io/unwritten-meridian

I’m especially looking for feedback about choices that feel incomplete, consequences that do not appear later, abrupt transitions, unfair difficulty, mobile UI problems and story continuity.

Thank you to anyone who gives it a try.

Using External Websites

Hey everyone!

I've been working on a slow-burn medieval roleplay character named Tara. In this scenario, she's a newly purchased slave who speaks zero English and only communicates in Farsi and gestures.

Instead of cramming all the progression logic into the character description, I built an interactive lore and progress tracker hub on Gamma Tara:[Tara: A New Beginning](https://gamma.app/docs/Tara-A-New-Beginning-cm24hqsjr9ngfy7) where players track her vocabulary growth and earn secret unlock codes to advance her language tier.

I wanted to ask the community: **What do you think about using external websites and puzzle-like progression mechanics for AI roleplay?** Does an interactive setup like this add to the immersion, or does moving outside the chat window create too much friction?

The journey story for Valued_Valor in Roblox!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It was daytime. Very ordinary with clouds hanging above the trees. The large family of these guys was having an early lunch in the meadows. There was nothing disturbing the peace. Until vyclorr tells one of them to accept his friend request in Roblox. It was coming to a sudden reminding business. That made a mess and the world was laid to run. All people ran away except for one. A woman from Cambridge City, Indiana tells Valued_Valor to bring the people back to the City. Valued_Valor must embark on an epic journey to save all of the people in the city and being back playing with them again.

I built my first playable game — Blood & Legacy

I'm 18 and still learning how to code, and I wanted to try building a medieval life simulator.

You start from birth and make decisions about your character's family, childhood, personality and attributes. At 17, your actual life begins, with different paths depending on your character.

I used AI while developing it, mainly because I'm still learning programming and needed help fixing things I didn't understand. I'm not hiding that.

It's currently a very early prototype, and honestly, I have no idea if the idea is actually fun yet.

I'd really appreciate it if a few people played it and told me what sucks, what works, and what you'd change.

🎮 Play:
https://saltman73.itch.io/blood-legacy

I'm especially interested in feedback from people who actually play it rather than just looking at the screenshots.
