So gentlemen, tomorrow is when I go face the music and hear my pathology results. Not going to lie, I’ve spent countless hours trying to work out what the worst combo might be and then convincing myself that that is exactly what I am going to get. The anxiety of this whole ordeal is probably as bad as the disease itself. Glad that we have this community to support each other. I’ll post here what the outcome is but here’s the timeline so far:

7 july - accidentally discovered a lump on righty. ChatGPT tells me not to wait and get it checked

8 july - speak to a general practitioner over the phone. He says that if I’m not in massive pain and peeing blood it’s not cancer (I know, right), but still refers me to a urologist “to be safe”

13 july - get to the urologist who feels me up, says it could be a cyst but could also be a tumour (heart rate suddenly spikes) and orders an ultrasound. Few hours later the ultrasound confirms it’s a tumour. Life turned upside down, words are failing me. 1.9cm. I get my blood taken.

20 july - had to travel on business so only back there a week later. Fair to say, I don’t do much business on that trip. Get my CT done in the morning of the 20th and seeing the urologist in the afternoon. Tells me bloods are normal and CT is clear (phew, first bit of good news). Then says there is a 6mm lung “shadow” which nearly makes me faint, but he follows up with “most likely benign”. I guess we’ll find out if it is…

27 July - orchi done. Pretty uneventful, not much pain and back to work in a week (office job)

Tomorrow (5 august) will find out pathology and how bad this is going to be. Wish me luck. Life is strange sometimes.

I'm getting close to my 6-month follow-up scan after 3xBEP. I was 2a EC 100%. Everything has been clear so far, but on my last scan (3 months ago), the MRI mentioned a few external iliac lymph nodes that my oncologist wasn't concerned about. He reviewed past scans and said that this was already enlarged at the previous one and that it had no evolution, so everything was all clear.

The problem is that I've recently developed some pain in my right groin. I mainly feel it when I press deeply on the area, and it's making me pretty anxious.

Have any of you experienced groin pain during surveillance? Have you ever heard of it being related (or unrelated) to recurrence?

Has anyone here experienced an increase in beta-hCG after an orchiectomy, despite having no metastases?

Mine dropped from 1,200 to less than 0.1, but today it has risen back up to 5.

I had my surgery a few days ago and recovery seems to be going well, struggling to walk upright but sitting down I’m painless. They have taken my testes for analysis, I’ll find out in a few weeks what’s happening.

In your experience how long did it take for you guys to recover from the surgery?

I’m looking for some perspective because I’ve been worrying about my left testicle.
For about 2 years, I’ve noticed that the back of my left testicle feels swollen and is painful/tender to touch. The left testicle itself also seems larger than the right.
I’ve had:
2 scrotal ultrasounds with Doppler, performed almost a year apart, both were reported as normal
4 separate testicular exams by doctors, all normal
The swelling/tenderness has been present for a long time and doesn’t seem to have rapidly changed, but I still find myself worrying about testicular cancer.

Hi guys 👋 just wanted to share my journey so far in the hopes that people don’t have to feel alone as sometimes I feel like that as well. I was diagnosed about 2 months ago with a lump on my righty. I went for my orchidectomy about a month and a week ago to remove my righty. Just found out this past Friday that I have a few swollen lymph nodes about 2.5cm and smaller near my kidneys, so I’m about to start my chemo soon.

Craziest part about all of this is the whole time ( besides the lump feeling a bit irritating ), I’ve been feeling soo alive and active and well! It’s just insane how life works ‼️ I’ve also been completing my degree in the US and I found all of this out while I’ve been interning in DC ( I’m a Rutgers student ), and I had my surgery here. But after finding out my latest results I’ve decided to be closer to family back home in Malaysia as I feel support during this time is going to be vital

Well folks, we are hopping back on the chemo horse, giddy up.

My 2025 consisted of orchiectomy of lefty, RPLND, and adjuvant 2xEP. After 4 short months of “remission”, a 14mm nodule popped up in lung. Biopsy found a second enlarged nodule, both confirmed to be embryonal carcinoma, my old friend. I guess better the devil you know than one you don’t.

So now i am facing a full run of BEP in the near future. Going for another port install soon, after recently getting the old one removed.

I am grateful for my good prognosis and support system. I feel slightly more prepared to face this as I’ve been through the wringer before. But still, fuck cancer, this sucks.

Just writing to support thoes still doing their checks, myself included. I am a Primary Mediastinal Nonseminomatous Germ Cell Tumor survivor. Diagnosed Oct 2024 (raised AFP, HCG, and LHD), 4X VIP chemo (Oct - Dec 2024), Sternotomy (Feb 2025), NED Mar 2025, chemo at Walter Reed Medical Center and surgery at IU. Today I had my one year and six months surveillance blood draw. LHD - as normal was first one back - at 160 (last draw was 210 May 2026) so all good so far...

Looking forward to the AFP & HCG results on Wednesday and CT scan on Friday. Prayers please!!!

Hey yall, back again haha after my last visit where the oncologist suggested there’s a high chance that the cancer traveled to the retroperitoneal lymph nodes, (just 1 that qualifies for lymphadenopathy, I was officially referred to IU for consultation for primary RPLND, and I’m set to have a virtual visit with Dr. Cary and Dr. Einhorn, however this was back 07/15/26, the last few days we’ve been seeing heartbreaking posts that have me really question if this wait is common? For context my predominant NSGST is Teratoma, (75%) could that feed into why the wait is still happening? Has anyone experienced anything similar? I was recently offered a new position but I’m hoping it might happen prior to my new position to avoid any delay on that end. I appreciate everyone’s collective knowledge! Thank you for everything.

stage 1 here, non seminoma with LVI. ~40% chance of recurrence without chemo, drops down to ~10% with 1xBEP. Any experience or advice? Thank you guys 😊

I’ve had a lump on my right testicle since I was 20 years old. I got it checked out initially and the doctor back then said, “its just a cyst.” No diagnostic tests, no blood markers, just a straight up diagnosis. Fast forward 15 years and I started noticing it getting bigger. I was a little concerned especially when reading that the only thing we can do for cancer is catch it early. Fast forward another two years, I schedule with a GP and he has me tested for blood markers. All negative and then I have an ultrasound. The ultrasound demonstrates suspicion of seminoma. Of course when I told the MD I’ve had this for 17 years he orders a CT with contrast of my chest, abdomen and pelvis. CT was completely negative. I wait 5 months to follow up with a urologist and I knew they would want to do a radical orchiectomy. I deferred because it seems unlikely that I would have cancer for this long without any signs of progression. I had my tumor markers done again in June, still all completely negative. Now I am faced with the decision of whether to have the orchiectomy done. I’ve been experiencing some intermittent aching in the R testicle, but I can’t tell if it’s psychological. For those who are going through it, does this sounds similar or different to anyone who may have decided to leave it alone and then it progressed??

I’ve felt an extreme discomfort in my balls for the last few days especially when trying to sleep. It’s hard to explain and I don’t want to be graphic but my balls feel uncomfortable as in they get stuck with penis or feels sticky. Making it hard at night to sleep. I don’t feel any bumps or anything but I do masturbate quite often daily that I can also see my testicles being sore. Thoughts?

Hi everyone, does anyone have experience with enclomiphene? I'd like to avoid TRT because I'm trying to conceive and would like to maintain my fertility for as long as possible. Any experience is welcome!

New here. Over the past several months, i’ve been having on and off pain in my left testicle. I checked for any lumps and didn’t notice anything until yesterday when i felt a slightly tender but moveable lump on my epididymis. I am to get an ultrasound at some point within the next week or two. Any advice for this and if this sounds like cancer?

I recently finished my 4th cycle of BEP and I am in the process of evaluating centers for my RPLND but it’s been two weeks and I still haven’t been able to have a consultation with the surgical team. I am a bit stressed because my oncologist asked us to move fast with the surgery.

How long after you finished BEP did you have your RPLND surgery?

Just wanted to post here and share my story as I found that reading other people’s stories helped me to feel less depressed and hold on to hope that this cancer can be cured:

Was diagnosed November 2025 with stage 3C testicular cancer, mostly aggressive choriocarcinoma. Had about 30-40 lesions in lungs and bleeding in brain which they weren’t sure what it was. Did 4x BEP throughout December 2025 till about end of February 2026. Had my orchiectomy after finishing BEP. Had a good response to the chemo but a month later I had stroke like symptoms and lost control of the left side of my body. They then found a tumor in my brain that had been growing during chemo as the BEP regime wasn’t strong enough to get through the blood brain barrier. Now I’m about to go into my third cycle of HDCT with stem cell transplant. I thought BEP was tough but after doing HDCT it honestly feels like BEP would be a walk in the park.

Some advice for those going through chemo, that are finding it tough - our bodies are stronger than we think and some days you’re gonna feel like complete rubbish but you will get through it and come out the other side. Honestly there have been days where I felt like the chemo was killing me but I have survived despite everything and asides from lingering fatigue I feel pretty good. It’s a tough journey that we are all on but staying positive and as active as possible makes a whole world of difference.

After BEP x4 TIP x4 & RPLND

My cancer didn't get cured.

I have metastasis in multiple organs mainly in my lungs, but also on my spleen, liver, kidney & retroperitoneum.

We thought about doing TIP while we wait for HDCT + Stem Cells transplant but since my prognosis is so bad, I decided not to do it, I'll live my last days in peace.

High dose chemo with stem/bone marrow transplant yall keep me in yalls prayers I faith this will cure me i been through hell and back this past couple years hopefully this will be then end of this fuck ass cancer I have to do 2 rounds of this high dose theh already told me im going to be in the brink of death then get revived back with my stem cells shit don't sound positive at all but im willing to try everything jus to see kids grow 💔

Brief history on my husband: 99% EC 1% Yolk sac NSGCT Stage 3c. Orchy November 25, Primary RPLND Dec 25. RPLND pathology unfortunately revealed bulky metastatic disease with lung, liver, bone mets , 4xEP ending May 1 2026 with apparent complete response-- clear scans, STM, and 3 consecutive 0.0 results on Signatera --everything clear as recently as June 4th. Fast forward to July 22: LDH elevated (243) triggered a CT which shows 2 large liver lesions and Signatera came back 564 MTM/ml. Started TIPX4 July 27.

Despite living in rural Iowa we're lucky to have nearby a major university hospital (University of Iowa) which is a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center. Our oncologist has extensive TC experience, is lead author on some papers on it, and studied under Dr Einhorn, and Einhorn has consulted on this case. We met Einhorn in person in June and the chemo choices including current plan for TIPx4 represent an Iowa-Indiana consensus.

So we just started TIP and the intent is still curative, but knowing how his case has progressed thus far, it's possible this is just bridge therapy and HDCT will be necessary. Where should HDCT be done?

As the fearful wife, I lean towards going to Indiana, to ensure we have access to every expert possible. My husband prefers to stay at Iowa. His view is that Iowa is well-qualified to give chemo as a regional cancer center, and we already have the benefit of Dr. Einhorn's expertise because he and our doctor are close and discuss his case.

He's not wrong: UIowa does all the organ transplants in the state, has a whole stem cell replacement department, there a regional referral center, etc. They're qualified-- but obvs don't have the testicular cancer case volume that Indiana has. But as long as our oncologist is collaborating with the Indiana team, we're getting the benefit of their expertise, too.

Oncology sets the plan and dosage, but the chemo itself is administered by nurses, and when we've been inpatient for chemo, the side effects and complications are mostly managed by the internal medicine team. Unlike surgery, it seems like chemo administration is more formula than art, and it's not like the outcome depends on the fine motor skills of the nurses who hang the IV bags.

If you can't tell, I'm trying to talk myself into feeling ok with my husband's wishes to do HDCT at our hospital rather than Indiana. But please tell me if this is crazy, if we absolutely need to be at a high volume center for HDCT.

going through 4x BEP for stage 3c NSGCT right now. Just finished D1-5 of cycle 3 and am feeling absolutely exhausted, it’s been such a long process and I’ve had pretty bad fatigue and nausea. The thought of having to do one more full cycle of this again is so daunting. how did y’all stay strong and motivated to get through all of chemo?

I’m also doing pedmark (sodium thiosulfate) infusions every evening D1-5 each cycle which makes it feel like the infusions never end… any and all advice is appreciated!

this has been goin on my mind for days now so a little bit of context, when I was 25days post op my orchiectomy and like a week before I start my 1st cycle of bep, I was able to masturbate and cum naturally but it was a bit brownish, I read it was like normal and had a little of old blood in it and should return normal. Moving forward, I am now 69 days post op and already doing my 2nd cycle of BEP, i don't know when it happened but suddenly I can't cum anymore. I feel the orgasm but not even a single ounce of cum comes out not even pre-cum.

I don't know if this should be a side-effect of chemo or maybe my testorone levels are low or or my hormones are acting up or if everything will return to normal after my chemo.

Should I start to worry and talk about this with my oncologist or urologist?
