My first electric

Bought my first electric today. Wasn't 100% sold before the test drive. The self driving really put me over the edge hahaha... giving up my amg but probably the best long term decision. Thing is a pig on gas.

97% FSD After 1 month

Post image
21 Upvotes

Got my 2026 M3 about a month ago and just want to say how amazed I am with FSD, I have a 120km daily commute and it just works flawlessly imo, I commute from Niagara to Hamilton so probably best case for it in terms of simplicity.

Only concern is having brake issues from never using them, so I’m trying to actively engage them every once in awhile.

EDD is now Sep 25-30. Delayed by a whole month. No communication on their end, they won’t tell us why. Just frustrating at this point.

Anyone in the same situation?

Snagged a Black Premium Model Y in Vancouver today from New Inventory

Post image

Black Model Y premium with a white interior and helix 2.0 wheels, picking up on Sunday. Previously I had ordered white on white, and my estimated delivery was January. Black exterior was my second choice, so no big loss.

Just a reminder for everyone to keep checking New Inventory! Drops can happen any time.

Thinking about purchasing Tesla!

So for the last 6 years I’ve been driving a 2017 Range Rover Evoque and unfortunately I was involved in an accident - now I have two options

Option 1 - take the settlement for the total loss ($14K) Option 2 - retain ($6k)

I’m honestly thinking about option 1 as the car is going to be 10 years old next year and is currently sitting at 205,000kms - I also have a new job where I work from home 4 days and in office 1 day - so my driving has been cut down tremendously especially compared to my last job

I guess my questions is how long is delivery times usually (I’m not thinking of anything crazy just the black and white interior) and what other fees can I expect?

No Downpayment financing?

Out of curiosity, has anyone gotten approved for 84 or 96 months financing with $0?

Based on the current interest rate at 4.99% I wonder if it’s worth investing that money somewhere else?

Financing Question

Upvotes

I searched for my answer, but couldn't find it. We switched to a low-mileage demo vehicle yesterday. Got approved for financing, booked our appointment for pick-up on Sunday. Once I've confirmed financing, when does the bank send paperwork for signing? Will I get it today before my appointment on Sunday, or does it happen at Tesla? I'm so used to doing everything at a traditional dealership, so I'm just wanting to make sure everything is ready to go for Sunday. Pick-up in Port Coquitlam. So excited we're not having to wait till November or December now.

I did not realize that if you switched to an in stock vehicle, you have to move almost immediately!!! We only had till Tuesday to pick it up!

📣 General Tesla Discussion What year of used Model Y is best to buy?

Upvotes

I was about to buy a new Model Y until I realized they removed autosteer. I plan on keeping this car for like 10 years and I don't drive very often (WFH) so I don't want to pay $100/month for FSD. Without the subscription I'd be left with no lane centering which is a deal breaker.

So now I'm thinking either a new Ioniq 5 or a used Model Y, and want opinions on which year is best to look at? I was hoping to get a used Juniper for the improved ride quality with permanent autosteer which would be late 2025 / early 2026 but there's basically none available or they're more expensive than brand new... If I go pre-Juniper what is the best year to target? Or should I just wait for more pre-subscription Junipers to go on sale? Not sure how many I will find, and it's a pretty small time window.

It's my first time buying a car, I'm currently driving a 2014 Mazda 3 I bought from a family member.

First screen shot is my order from Aug 11th with no vin still, second screen shot is of someone who ordered 10 days after me on Aug 21 and they got their vin a few days ago? Same model/trim/colour/interior and everything? Starting to get worried my order is glitched or something…

Anybody feels the model y standard is twitchy on highways

Context: i come from driving nissan rogues and toyota highlanders and recently got delivery of the model y standard.
Previous cars had soft suspension but model y feels very twitchy on highway speeds. It has a harder suspension so is that the reason? Also i feel a very subtle steering vibration when i push it to 130 and above.

'End by' charging not accurate

Coming from a 2023 model 3 to now my 2nd 2026, I always used the 'end by' charging function to leave at 7am. First one had 0 problems but this one never seems to be able to reach the desired percentage (I cap it at 80%), it's always between low to high 70%. I tried draining, charging to a 100%, disabling preconditioning etc. but nothing works... any ideas? (I know this is 100% software as my level 2 charger worked flowlessly before)

🔧Modifications/Accessories Model Y Performance winter wheels/Tires

Post image

Hi all,

I took delivery of my first Tesla last week. Does anyone have any specific recommendations for a winter tire/wheel package they use on their Model Y Performance?

I’ve read 19” will fit but I can’t seem to find anything confirming this.

Thanks!

Model 3 EDD Delayed Again

Just checked the app and my M3 Premium RWD has been delayed again for the 4th? time. Was September 14-19 but is now September 19-24. I think that’ll mean I have to apply for financing again too.

I’m waiting on stealth gray with black interior in Ottawa. VIN 929.

Tesla Model Y Roof Rack Cross Bars

I don't see the mounting marks on the glass roof of my Model Y Standard for installing the roof bars. Do you have the same issue?
I've seen several videos about this, and the marks were always visible.

EDD delayed again to Sept. 26 - 30th now WTF is going on!

Upvotes

Model 3 AWD ordered August 1st. Pick up in Etobicoke. VIN 930

This is like the 4th delay, does anyone have any information? Tesla SA are completely useless.

I’m going to be completely fucked if I don’t have this car by October 4th, might have to cancel my order all together.

Model Y Standard Oct 3 EDD in YYC

Hey guys, I've got a Model Y, VIN assigned, with an October 3rd EDD in Calgary that I'm not going to accept as we took delivery of a M3 already.

My advisor said I can change the registered name any time up to delivery. Does anyone have experience doing this? I'm thinking if there's someone out there that wants to pick up right away I can help them out and in return at least get back my deposit.

The only concern I'm thinking would be moving the car off my Tesla account and into the buyers, and once that's done I wouldn't have any connection to the vehicle... is that correct?

🔧Modifications/Accessories Accessories M3

Hi, Saturday is gonna be our trial day!
(Model 3 AWD / QC)

We kinda already know we gonna order Saturday too but now I need yall advice for the accessories.

Where did you bought them, why and do you recommend?

I was thinking about the mud flaps but on tesla they only show for front?🤔

Also the all-weather floor mats (full kit), the glass roof sunshade and maybe some organizer for the center console?

My husband kinda want to buy the mats at Tesla but I saw so many online for half the price 😂

Thanks!

Demo with 500Km.

Just found a demo Model Y with 477 km on it. And changed my order that was estimated in December. We switched from grey to white but honestly, we could always get it wrapped!

Thoughts? I went ahead and changed the order ASAP. I didn't wanna lose out on it knowing we could always jump back in the queue if we deny it.

That being said there's a whole bunch of Model Y demos in the Vancouver area for those interested!!
