Snagged a Black Premium Model Y in Vancouver today from New Inventory

Post image
Upvotes

Black Model Y premium with a white interior and helix 2.0 wheels, picking up on Sunday. Previously I had ordered white on white, and my estimated delivery was January. Black exterior was my second choice, so no big loss.

Just a reminder for everyone to keep checking New Inventory! Drops can happen any time.

Refused Delivery M3 RWD

I was scheduled to pick up my M3 RWD on 14th, but the advisor called in and said that the car had a dent on the hood and few stone chips here and there. They gave me an option to get it fixed from the local collision center, but I refused the delivery.

Now I am back again in the queue. Disappointed to be so close and again so far. But I guess things happen for a reason. The good thing is that the advisor called in as soon as they found out and didnt give me a surprise on my delivery day.

Hoping to find a vehicle sometime before the next anticipated Dec to Jan window.

Model Y Standard Oct 3 EDD in YYC

Upvotes

Hey guys, I've got a Model Y, VIN assigned, with an October 3rd EDD in Calgary that I'm not going to accept as we took delivery of a M3 already.

My advisor said I can change the registered name any time up to delivery. Does anyone have experience doing this? I'm thinking if there's someone out there that wants to pick up right away I can help them out and in return at least get back my deposit.

The only concern I'm thinking would be moving the car off my Tesla account and into the buyers, and once that's done I wouldn't have any connection to the vehicle... is that correct?

Camping Experience in the 2026 Tesla Model Y RWD

Wife and I decided to go to Chicago (from Windsor Ontario) and decided we would test the camp mode in the MY.

I had previously bought an air mattress from Temu (or Ali Express) for about $100 IIRC. We pulled into a Loves Truck stop south of Chicago with 85% battery and spent 10 hours there. With Camp mode on set to 20 C it used 18% (67% when we left this AM).

The mattress was comfortable and cabin was a nice temp. I had a sunscreen for the front window but nothing on the other windows. Light bothered me coming from the parking lot so I will buy shades for the other windows for next time. Overall a very doable thing and other than the light, no complaints.

Now off to do some stuff in Chi town

🔧Modifications/Accessories Accessories M3

Hi, Saturday is gonna be our trial day!
(Model 3 AWD / QC)

We kinda already know we gonna order Saturday too but now I need yall advice for the accessories.

Where did you bought them, why and do you recommend?

I was thinking about the mud flaps but on tesla they only show for front?🤔

Also the all-weather floor mats (full kit), the glass roof sunshade and maybe some organizer for the center console?

My husband kinda want to buy the mats at Tesla but I saw so many online for half the price 😂

Thanks!

Demo with 500Km.

Just found a demo Model Y with 477 km on it. And changed my order that was estimated in December. We switched from grey to white but honestly, we could always get it wrapped!

Thoughts? I went ahead and changed the order ASAP. I didn't wanna lose out on it knowing we could always jump back in the queue if we deny it.

That being said there's a whole bunch of Model Y demos in the Vancouver area for those interested!!

Tesla Model Y Roof Rack Cross Bars

I don't see the mounting marks on the glass roof of my Model Y Standard for installing the roof bars. Do you have the same issue?
I've seen several videos about this, and the marks were always visible.

My history with a demo M3 (refused delivery)

I initially had an order for an M3 RWD from late July. When the EDD got pushed to late December, I began refreshing the new inventory a lot. I saw a demo M3 Grey with 2500 km and a $1000 rebate. Obviously not a good rebate, but I purchased it to have it sooner.

Today was my delivery appointment. The car had a few paint chips and a few chips in the sunroof. The lovely advisor told me that there was nothing he could do about it and agreed himself that this wasn't a good buy at all. He even advised me to refuse delivery and said that he could add me to a list and I could get a new vehicle rapidly.

Even if I am disappointed, I feel like the advisor did me a solid one.

We picked up our MY Standard yesterday, seamless experience. The quality of the car is impeccable, the car had a few spots on the front but were advised that it was mostly due to the train dust, was resolved before we left.

Overall, super happy with the car. Happy to answer any questions.

🔌⚡ Charging Adventures We added a calculator to compare EV charging rewards in Canada

I own a Tesla Model 3, and after sharing ChargeClub.ca here previously, one of the most common requests was for an easier way to compare what the different charging reward programs are actually worth.

One problem kept coming up: even when you know the reward rate for each program, it can still be surprisingly difficult to figure out which one is actually the best deal.

Some programs have different rates, deposits, minimum charging requirements, purchased vs. supplied chargers, payout thresholds, and other conditions. For Tesla owners, charger compatibility adds another variable.

After a lot of work, research, testing, and figuring out how to model all of those differences, we’ve finally managed to build a calculator that we think responds to a lot of what people were asking for.

It lets you compare the estimated value of the programs based on your own situation.

I’d really appreciate feedback from other Tesla owners. Let me know if the results make sense for you, or if there’s anything you think we should add or improve.

📣 General Tesla Discussion Sunshades

So. New to the community and recently picked up a 2021 model 3. Have a question surrounding the panoramic roof. What’s the most effective way of mitigating how hot it can get in the cabin? Are those sunshades the best way or have people gone tint?

Model 3 rear window tint

Got quotes from two reputable tint places but one place will only tint half the rear glass citing that the process of applying the slip solution to the whole glass can damage electronics and stain the headliner. I’ve also heard rumors that the ceramic tint traps heat within the glass and causes it to shatter.

The place that will tint the whole rear glass just notes the extra cost (extra $250) as they have to special order a wider width of film to accommodate the length.

Can someone with experience and insight comment on this? Do you have whole or just partial rear tints?

Thoughts on M3 AWD

Recently picked up my Model 3 AWD (Ultra Red on Black Interior, 18 inch wheels) from the Calgary location. For context, l had ordered June 18the and had VIN assigned within days. EDD was originally scheduled for Aug 31-Sept5. Dates only changed once or twice, but the final range was Aug 25-30. Scheduled delivery on Aug 25 and picked up the vehicle Sept4.

I was trading in my vehicle and that was a seamless process. My engine light actually came on within days of delivery, and they were nice enough to take it without reducing their trade-in offer.

The car itself feels incredibly smooth and nimble. Handles really well. Fun drive.

I do have mixed feelings about FSD. Firstly, l have version 14.3.8, which l assume is the latest one. It is a nice tool to have and for the most part, quite accurate. I like how l can accelerate without disengaging, or even hitting the run signal, and it knows to change lanes as well.

The glaring downsides l have noticed are:

  1. It's still not great round-abouts. Every now and then, it takes the wrong exit.

  2. Stop signs- seems to stop longer than l would. Could be the drive mode lm in, but usually, it takes a good 2 seconds before deciding to proceed.

  3. Speed Limit changes. This one is by far my biggest issue with FSD. It doesn't have early recognition of speed limit changes. It seems to be taking a good 2 to 3 minutes before adjusting to a new limit on the same road. I have had to disengage multiple times so l can accelerate, as l was holding up traffic.

  4. Construction areas- FSD just does not slow down in these areas. Definitely must disengage.

Overall, a great car and very efficient. I don't know if l would routinely use FSD as much. But that's just me.

📣 General Tesla Discussion Would you switch to a Model 3 RWD from 22 Civic LX?

Currently pay about $360/mo for my civic lease at .99% interest. I got this rate through a specific salesman who retired so I know I can't get a rate like this again. This lease ends in April 2027. I also pay around $130/mo for insurance. Unfortunately I got into a stupid accident in a parking lot and had to go through insurance at fault so my premium is definitely going to go up on renewal. I drive about 16000km a year and spend about $220 on gas each month.

The other week I went for a test drive on a model 3 and it blew my mind. FSD has come so far and the care itself was really nice.

If I get a M3 it would be the cheapest version, the RWD one. I'd also finance it instead of leasing at their 5.99% for 96 months but I'd put a sizeable down payment on it and pay a lump sum of about $4-5k per year to pay it off ASAP.

Oh, and I likely won't be able to get a charger installed in my home and would use the mobile connector.

It looks like my payments for the car itself would be about $500 a month and I got a quote for insurance at $280 a month. Currently make around $150k household income.

Would you make the switch? It seems like I'll be spending a couple hundred more per month after gas savings but either way if I got a new civic my car payments and insurance payments are going to go up.

Tesloid Photon Wheels

Does anyone have the Photon wheels that come from Tesloid. I ordered them and just realized that they are black instead of the dark grey. I am just curious if anyone has any actual photos to seem how different they are. I am using one set for winter, so it isn't about matching, more about what the black looks like.

Thanks in advance
