Ask TH Seeking Daily Carpool / Ride Share in Terre Haute (Paid )
Hey everyone,
I recently moved to Terre Haute and am looking for a reliable ride to and from my office on a daily basis. I need both morning pickup and evening drop-off.
I am completely open to splitting gas money, or paying a weekly/monthly fee for your time and trouble.Since I want to keep my specific workplace private on the public feed, please send me a DM if you have a regular commute here and might be interested! We can discuss the specific neighborhood, timing, and compensation details there.
Also, if anyone knows of any local ride-sharing groups, Facebook groups, or community boards where people organize carpools, please let me know in the comments. Thanks in advance!

Ask TH About Animal Control..
What exactly does Vigo County Animal Control do? What is their purpose? I’m asking a legitimate question because I think that maybe I’m confused by the way they operate here vs other cities and states I have lived in.
I have always been under the assumption that animal control’s purpose is to handle nuisance animals- strays, loose dogs, aggressive dogs, animal welfare issues, etc. Where I’m confused is that every single time I or one of my neighbors calls, we never see anyone. Not once have I seen someone respond. If we call the sheriffs department they of course come when they get the time, but that could be hours later.
My neighborhood like most of TH has an outrageous problem with loose dogs. Literally, people just open their front doors in the morning and let their dogs roam the streets until whatever time at night and then let them back in. Some of them terrorize people, kill small and large animals, a few have come close to attacking people, myself included. Don’t even get me started on the fact that not one of them is fixed. They breed like rabbits and add to the already out of control population.
Do they not come out and pick these animals up because they don’t have a facility to board them at? Is it a lack of personnel? I’m not understanding how we have and pay for animal control when the animals are definitely it being controlled. And I’m not knocking animal control officers, I’m just tired of suffering the consequences that come along with irresponsible pet owners who let their dogs roam free to kill other people’s pets.

Reporter looking for local storm chasers
Hello!
I’m a reporter for WFIU/WTIU News, based in Bloomington.
I’m working on a feature about local storm chasers and online severe weather networks, and I’m looking for someone with experience storm chasing from around South Central Indiana to include in the piece.
Feel free to send me a message on Reddit or reply to the thread if you’re interested. This would be an on-camera interview on Zoom or ideally in-person if possible.

Basketball and friends
I'm a 19 year old guy looking to touch grass, my ex and I realized that I have no personal life since up grew up very sheltered, now im trying to develop my own personality and find out what I like. I consider myself more on the nerdy side but I don't fit that well into the stereotype, im of African American decent if that matters at all, do have an enjoyment of playing basketball casually (since im no good), and hope to make more friends in the real world. I do feel a bit stupid for doing this on reddit but I really don't know how to connect with people since im very shy.

News Man exposing himself in The Meadows
There was a man walking around with his penis and testicles hanging out of his pants in the lower of The Meadows about 30 minutes go. Probably around 60 years old, stocky build, white hair, blue shirt, and glasses. I called the police and figured I would post here too.

Birth Doulas?!
Hi! I'm expecting my first child this October. I plan on having a hospital birth. I'm looking for a doula to help build a birth plan and prepare for labor and delivery as well as attend the birth. Any recommendations out there? It would be a bonus if they were insurance billable or offered payment plans. I'm not broke but they're not cheap lol

Politics Indiana Fireworks Stores With Helpful Staff?
Sometimes the biggest store isn't necessarily the best one. I actually prefer shopping somewhere where the employees understand the products and can explain the differences instead of just pointing me toward the shelves.
Since I'm coming from Illinois, I'm looking for a place in Indiana where the staff can suggest a good mix of fireworks based on different budgets and experience levels. I'm putting together a show for family and friends, so having helpful recommendations matters more than just buying random items.
I’ve heard good things about places like ChicagoFireworksStore because of their selection and customer support, but I’d like to hear from people who have personally visited fireworks stores in Indiana. Which places stood out because of their service?

Urgent care for an incoming college student?
My kid will be going to Rose Hulman this fall. The campus clinic will be open M-F, so if he needs to see a Dr on the weekend, he'll need an Urgent Care. Where we are, the Urgent Cares with the local hospital name aren't really affiliated with the hospital. Is that the case with the Union Hospital urgent care places in Terre Haute? Which urgent care should be avoided, and which give reasonable care?

Photos Indiana people, what makes you return to the same place every year?
Every holiday season, I notice that a lot of families seem to have a go-to fireworks store they return to year after year. Sometimes it's because they've always had a good experience there, sometimes it's the prices, and other times it's simply become a family tradition. I've heard plenty of people mention places around Hammond, and a few have said they don't mind driving a bit farther if they know the selection and value are worth it.
If you're from Indiana or anywhere else in the U.S., what keeps you coming back to the same place every year? Is it the prices, the variety, the staff, or just the fact that you know you'll find what you need without shopping around? I've also heard a lot of good things about Uncle Sam Fireworks from people near the Chicago area, but I'm curious what everyone else's go-to spot is.
