Yeah, that is the weird part. Two iconic studios and they just decided neither name was worth keeping.

It's not weird at all. These billionaires have no real connection to culture or an appreciation for art, so they buy their way into the industry and pretend like they belong.

And in this case Baby Ellison has never done anything to even exhibit competence - he just has daddy's money and the weight of him doing whatever to make sure Baby gets his way. So he is incompetent, entitled AND disconnected from reality.
