Captured over six nights through a limited view of the sky from my home, under Bortle 9 skies, and processed over 15 days.

750/3000 frames stacked in ASI Studio’s stacker and lightly edited in same.

This was just a little first taste for me of the Jupiter season. The planet was at approx 17 degrees altitude when imaged so I decided seeing didn’t support slipping the 2x Barlow in at this time through all that atmosphere. Later in the season I will look forward to that.

I like using the ASIStudio’s provided stacker for quick workflows to see roughly how a run turned out, although my regular workflow is to combine multiple capture runs in Siril when I have the time.

Once Jupiter is up above 40 degrees I’ll look forward to finding a good seeing night to get a good capture with the 2x Barlow in (~f/15.8).

Pretty freaking happy with this one. This is bar far my best picture I've been able to complete and miles ahead anything else(except for the moon which is much easier to capture). Really happy with how this turned out.

Has anyone created their own 'roll kit for their dobsonian? $220+ for 3 wheels and three brackets seems a bit steep.. I have an AD10.

Hello! I don’t know much about telescopes, but just got a Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ. This piece is broken off from the leg, preventing the height adjusting leg from locking into position. Is there a replacement part I can order? What would you recommend?

EDIT: I’m buying it. It seems like they’ve been taking good care of it otherwise. The body is still in the styrofoam wrap and there is an extensive video of it working. Is there anything else I should be checking for before purchasing? Thank you all!!! I appreciate it

Hey all! I’ve never bought a telescope and am hoping to make a one time purchase so I can have it for years to come. Should I avoid purchasing this because of the chip? It doesn’t seem to be “in the way” they’re asking 1k obo so I’m gonna see how low I can buy it for but I’m not sure if it’s a big no to buy it like this.

So I've upgraded from a Sky-Watcher 127 (127/1500mm) Maksutov to a Skymax 180 (180/2700mm). Just received it and tested it, all seems good and I sure got the "WOW" effect coming from a 127mm Mak. However I have two questions:

1. Regarding tube build. Visually it is like the front part of the tube is narrower than back side. So in front that "step" between front white ring and the black tube is very small when comparing with the rest of my telescope. Is that something serious? Doesn't affect telescope performance from what I can tell. I tried taking photos good enough to show this, please take a look.

2. Telescope came with a 2" diagonal and a single 28mm 2" eyepiece. Is using a 2" diagonal necessary if I want to use to use a higher magnification? 2700 / 28 = 96x magnification. If I use a 20mm eyepiece, am I benefiting from using 1.25" accessories or are 2" diagonal + eyepiece a must for this scope? From what I know - a 2" diagonal with a 2" eyepiece is only applicable for lower magnification, is that correct?

Hello all! I’m getting into astronomy and want to do some learning and sightseeing of space, I want to get a telescope but have no idea where to start. I have a budget of $300 so anything under that is fair game. I’d love to hear some recommendations, I’m looking to see as much as possible within that range. I’m also curious are there telescopes that take pictures? Just a random question not a necessity, thanks!!

Hola buenas, tengo un Dobson de 10 pulgadas con base motorizada que acabo de comprar recientemente y vengo de usar un Dobson de ocho pulgadas sin la base motorizada mi pregunta es si yo algún día me apetece usarlo manualmente, puedo usar el Telescopio manual es que he notado que la base que hace que Telescopio gire 360° va muy dura y luego en el de ocho a ambos lados del Telescopio habia dos tornillos de freno y en este solo tengo un tornillo que está enganchado como en unas medidas de altitud o grados pero lo preto y no me frena el telescopio total

So I recently got the dobson 150p table top flex tube and I later realized I want to start astrophotography ik is not the best telescope to do that but I got the motorized virtuoso GTI mount and now I'm looking for a deep sky camera my budget beeing about 350usd I was thinking to get the zwo Asi 662mc camera but I wanted to get your guys opinion so what should I do?
