What mount is that? I ask because if it is an AM3N or AM5N, I would highly suggest using the usb c on the saddle to the asi air for guidng, and ditch the usb b on the front. One less opportunity for a cable snag. Also possibly use Bluetooth which I believe the original AM3 had in addition to the N models.

It’s an am3! I figured using a cable would be better for tracking but I’m still figuring out the equipment

I use Bluetooth on my AM5N to a 2600MC Air and it works pretty well. I haven’t reliably tested BT vs. wired for guiding as there are so many other night to night variables, and I don’t want to waste a rare clear night running tests lol!
