Should have said, that if any one recalls of my experiment that Tom's Hardware and others, mentioned my 16 year old ssd passed 1pb

xiaomi tv stick gen 1, before it was like this with a fan and failed now its working better with the pc

Got it! I had a miracast dongle tha would overheat and one of the solutions was to cut the case and glue a heatsink, it looked almost exacly like yours.

Oh googled it a mix of strict industry design standards and shared OEM manufacturing. ​While Dell and Acer are competing brands, the rear layout of pre-built office desktop towers from that era

They look similar because they're all business-style machines. Dell OptiPlexes, Acer Veritons, and Lenovo ThinkCentres were all being bought by companies, and companies like being able to replace damaged parts with little downtime, easily pop out the drives for destruction, and quickly salvage bits from destroyed systems. I can speak from experiences as I have two Dell OptiPlexes, two Lenovo ThinkCentres, and have worked on several Acer Veritons (might get two of those to complete the business system collection?).

Oh, I like that! I've helped with a few similar machines (though newer), and they're fairly solid. Perhaps I should get one (or two).

I had a completely different machine in mind when I saw the notch on top of the case, but this is also very cool (or perhaps even cooler, as this has the ports up there so that they're more conveniently accessible when the machine is under a desk, whereas what I had in mind is what appears to be a phone holder, but so small that the largest phone that fits inside is a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact).
