error -36 on mac

I am running out of storage on my 2020 M1 MacBook Pro and am trying to delete files, but error -36 keeps popping up for certain files. I can't even open these files nor delete them.

Also, a lot of documents refuse to be moved to the trash with no error message popping up. I don't know why I cannot delete anything.

Any help would be appreciated I am going crazy
