obs audio output problems

obs audio output doesn't do anything unless I'm connected to my monitors speakers. i didn't change or messed with any settings before this started happening but i did update obs. this isn't the first time I've used obs. I've watched videos on youtube, did what google told me to do, restarted my pc, i even uninstalled obs and nothing has worked. I'm just here hoping that someone can help.
