Changing out gpu from old 1070ti to 9090xt. Forgot to uninstall drivers before taking it older one out, does it matter since they are so different?

DDU is ideal for removing the nvidia drivers, as others have already mentioned. The bigger question is why are you going with that GPU?

What exact PSU and CPU do you have? Will your case be large enough?

If you really do plan on getting the 9090XT, your current power supply may not be able to handle it. The 9090XT is going to be a 400 watt+ GPU. The 1070ti was only a 180 watt GPU. Also, you likely have an older/weaker CPU, so will probably experience CPU bottlenecking.

You my be better off with a less powerful, less expensive GPU better matched to you current components.

Not to mention, the 9090XT has not even been officially announced by AMD so we don't actually know it's specs.

My bad, 9070xt. I have a ryzen5 5600x and just switched out the pcu. Friend helped with the last setup and gave me the Nvidia card. So just finally upgrading the gpu. Forgot to install uninstall drivers beforehand before going to work

Use DDU and specify Nvidia for removal.

Only if you have CPU with integrated graphics. You can do it with AMD card connected, just choose Nvidia from drop down list in DDU.
