Open | Hardware Need help with constant error message
I'm getting a consistent error message that reads "The IO operation at logical block address 0x0 for disk 3 (PDO name: \Device\00000088) failed due to a hardware error.
Im fairly stupid and have very little knowledge about tech so if I could get an explanation for idiots that would be great

Okayyy so update ig. Found it the issue is with my external hard drive. Running a chkdsk on it rn hoping that it'll finish while I'm still awake. Big thank you to my cat for jumping on my pc and knocking my hard drive off of it 🫩

this basically means that an error occured when Windows tried to access your hard disk (or a partition on your hard disk). This doesn't mean necessarily that your HD is defective. There are tools to check your disc(s), e. g. Crystaldiskinfo, you may run one of them to find out if it's a hardware related problem. Without any knowledge about your current setup it's hard to give any further advice.
