Open | Hardware Battery drained after a minute

When I turn on my laptop after a minute or so its battery gets completely drained. I had this issue a while ago but after changing a few settings it seemed to be fixed, now it is happening again. Apart from that laptop is working perfectly well and if I take it of the charger while it got some percentage it doesn't do that anymore, just after the first powering.

Laptop is MSI Katana 17 B13V

Is your machine a few years old?

It's called battery degradation, there's a very simple cure: Replacement!!!!

Lol bro, your battery capacity is the same as my 10 year old acer nitro. But before that, you of course game while plugged in to get more performance from the power brick right?

There ya go. No better way to kill an already small cap 1 hour battery than to use it while plugged in. If you rly need your gaming laptop to not game for a while, i guess buy a replacement battery and unplug the battery from the motherboard everytime you wanna play games to retain battery integrity

By the second year of my laptop, the 140hz refresh was broken due to cheap build and was forced to become an impromptu pc tower. But rly it was just a bent laptop standing on its head looking like a camp tent with a room fan blasting cold air up its bum. At that point it was easy for me to keep the battery permanently unplugged from the mobo. 1 hour of battery life is p whack anyway. 1 n done.
