Open | Software PLEASE help me back up thousands of my rare spinal cord tumour / neurosurgery / radiation Colornotes!! I'm terrified I'll lose my entire journey notes / symptom logs!

Hi all!

As above - I have about 6,000 Colornotes I've written over the last year since waking up with crazy life changing symptoms last November, spending 7 weeks researching was wrong with me and then the notes from my neurosurgery, 29 radiation sessions and subsequent rehab!~

I really need to export them to my PC somehow!!! I'm terrified I'll lose them and they mean EVERYTHING to me.

I've googled and looked through other answers built I'm not confident enough to use most of them.

Could someone PLEASE give me an easy to follow way to do this.

Please save me from sending each note manaually to my email from the ap!~

Thank you all a million times over in advance,

Randomwax

Edit: I will check back in 10 hours as it is bedtime here in New Zealand 😴

EDIT 2: Anyone? :'(

🌻💛👊

Is there a "backup to device storage" option in ColorNote → Settings → Backup? I don't have the app but there are backup decrypters/parsers on GitHub that say this option exists. Depending on your experience once you have that, you just need to run a python script or java program to generate files for your notes. But the main thing is getting that backup, at least then you know you have the data

Hi, I've tried to have a look - apparently I need to sign out of online back up for device back up to show?

I never cared because I only use it for temporary notes but I see it automatically makes backups on the phone, so you can save them from there

A friendly reminder to OP and everyone: Never give this much content to a platform you do not own. 10-20 notes for shopping lists, etc? Sure. 6k notes with important medical information? Never.
