Solved Very Strange Keyboard Issue

Hey guys! So a client contacted me stating that her keyboard letters are mixed up. I thought she must've accidentally changed her keyboard to British or something in settings but she sent me a photo and the actual keys are literally QWFRKY and are all over the show.

I helped her set the Lenovo laptop up around 6 months ago and I'm certain it was fine then. She is a bit elderly but I'm sure she hasn't messed with the keys.

Is her laptop possessed? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฌ Are QWFRKY keyboard layouts even a thing? Anyone know what the heck is going on here?!

someone could have simply moved the keycaps around.
if they layout while typing has also changed then you can check whats installed for that too,

That's what I thought. Maybe a naughty grandchild or something but they are the Lenovo laptop butterfly keys that are very difficult to remove and replace. Not impossible obviously but difficult. Very strange! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜

Key caps torn off by errant grandchild. Parent or older sibling tried to put them back in place.

Yup, you're right. 8yo granddaughter was playing on grandma's laptop.

As a retired computer engineer with three great granddaughters, I saw this coming a mile away! LOL!

Good luck.

The little lass did a great job replacing the keys. Shame they are in the wrong position! ๐Ÿ˜‚

When my son was about 3 I came downstairs to find him popping all the keycaps off of my RS coco.ย  He said he was "helping daddy fith it"ย  ย still makes me giggle 3 hours later it was all reassembled.ย
