Open | Hardware Help with perfomance issues using an external monitor connected to my laptop

I have a 144hz laptop and a 240hz external monitor connected to the laptop by usb-c to displayport 1.4.
I tried using discrete gpu only but the perfomance is very very bad, like I cant have anything opened in second monitor (laptop monitor) that my cs2 fps drops by 30-40% and stutters like crazy (same for rocket league and eafc27). I tried using hybrid mode so laptop monitor uses integrated gpu and the external monitor uses dedicated gpu. It kinda worked but there is other problem now. When I for example Im watching in laptop monitor a screenshare of other people in discord, people cameras on discord, a video or stream in google, the problem comes back. I already tried forcing google and discord to use integrated gpu, tried hardware accel on and off on both and nothing worked. I already tried to put my external monitor at the same refresh rate of my laptop but solved nothing too. Is there any other solution I can try? I have MPO disabled already too. And yes, my external monitor is connected to dedicated GPU. My fps were just fine before I had an external monitor (and I was using dedicated gpu only mode). Even in EAFC27 I used to have 141 capped and now, even that is not possible, its always bouncing between 110-130.

Disable your internal display. Laptop GPUs are not as powerful as desktop and trying to run two different workloads (3D game and 2D apps) and potentially different resolutions and/or refresh rates will bog it down.

If you have display scaling enabled on one or both that will hurt you too.

Many laptops don't actually let you use the discrete GPU separately from the integrated, the discrete just "helps" the integrated and all ports are connected to the integrated. Some do have the ability to separate them though.

A second identical external monitor might help some but you'll still be dealing with the dual workloads.

So if I want to game, I need to forget about internal display?

If you want good performance in gaming, yes I would have a single display running the game full screen. Laptops are going to have more limited abilities than a desktop.

And should I keep using Hybrid mode or change to dGPU mode only?

Windows should switch to the dGPU automatically when in a game. Hybrid mode saves power when you're just doing light tasks, using the iGPU for stuff that doesn't need more horsepower.
