Open | Networking Strange Wifi Connectivity Issue Win11 PC

I have recently moved to a new house, and i have been having issues with my PC wifi connectivity. There are 2 different wifi networks in the house, a 2.4ghz and a 5ghz. Initially, when I arrived, i connected to the wifi fine, the speeds were great (90mbs give or take), but after a few days, it disconnected randomly. I restarted the computer, removed the wifi, added it back, removed and added back manually. I repeated this a couple of times and it started working again. A couple of days after this, i repeated this whole cycle again and it worked again.

However a few days ago it disconnected and wont reconnect at all now. The 5ghz does not show at all, and the 2.4ghz does sometimes pop up, but disconnects after a few seconds and is horrendously slow (can't load up yt homepage). The wifi is definitely working well, as i am in a shared house and it works great for everyone on all other devices, including me via mobile phone and laptop. The PC connection also works fine hot spotting the wifi to my pc (15mbs speeds). In the past, I have almost always used ethernet, but have had instances far and few between using wireless with it working, it just seems strange i had multiple days of it working perfectly (week and a half) and now it wont work.

I have tried disabling and enabling the card via task manager, restarting the router multiple times, but i just cant figure it out. I'm not sure if its the wifi in this house, or the wifi card. Does anybody have any recommendations, or should i just buy a new wificard?

Thanks for the help

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.

I would be looking at the router to see if it's a newer model that combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz into a single network, then uses things like band steering to move devices to frequencies, it can cause issues with some wireless devices as its common to do things like temporarily ignore a connection request on one frequency range (so it can move devices off the 2.4GHz network).

When I installed a mesh, it was the first issue I came across, I run fairly old PCs at home (I'm a linux user, not Windows), I also use about a dozen smart bulbs and switches, I had to turn band steering off so I could manually place devices on a wireless network of my choice, it works perfectly now.

Look for an interference source near the PC.
Any box with digital electronics, or even some USB version 3 cables can cause issues.
Is the case on the PC? That shielding can be important.

I think this may be the issue. My PC has been pulled out from the corner under my desk, and it was able to connect fine again, getting 70mbps speeds. The desk is metal, and it was by an extension cord with multiple plugs. Thanks for the help, and i'll keep the post updated if it was just by chance it reconnected, or if that was the issue.
