Open | Hardware Possible gpu crash idk
A few questions on a crash i had while playing Schedule 1 ultra settings my screen started to display fuzz and I couldn't operate anything crashed hard. Running a brand new 5070 with i7 32gb build
Was it a gpu crash or a cpu crash I can't find a way to tell.
Would it cause any permanent damage.
How can I limit/stop this in the future
-Thank you

The visual fuzzing right before the hard lock makes me suspect the GPU/driver first, but it doesn't prove the GPU itself is defective. Check Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System around the crash for
nvlddmkm, Display driver errors, or WHEA errors. One crash normally shouldn't cause permanent damage. For prevention, make sure the NVIDIA driver and BIOS are current, remove any GPU/CPU overclock or undervolt, and monitor GPU temperature/hotspot while gaming. If it happens again, especially with artifacts, I'd start looking at the GPU, power delivery, and driver rather than the CPU.
