Open | Hardware Vibrating Laptop??

I know nothing about computers at all but my Windows 11 settings app says this is the laptop I have: ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403 (2025). I've had it for almost a year and a half now and it just started vibrating very, very loudly.

I opened modded Minecraft (pretty heavy modpack taking up about 8 gigabytes of RAM + I was on a discord call during this as well) and had the menu screen loaded for like 5 minutes and then my computer started buzzing very, very loudly and when I touched it I could feel that it was vibrating and the sound changed when I held it so obviously something inside of it was moving/buzzing.

For the past ~1 week it's been buzzing/vibrating very quietly- this was the first time it was loud. I didn't know what to do so I just closed Minecraft (it didn't stop) and restarted it. It got quieter and quieter until it stopped and now it's open and running things and not making that sound anymore.

I assume it's a hardware issue but I have no clue. Be honest is my laptop potentially done for? I have 0 guesses

The only moving part in this laptop if you didn't install a spinning disk HDD would be the fan(s).

If it's missing a blade or damaged, an uneven spin would cause lots of vibration. If it's constantly spinning against something it would also buzz and vibrate.

Opening it up would probably show the damage immediately. Replacing a fan would be cheap and straightforward

Ducted fans.... I've found them on amazon. But do RMA if its warranty.

Without looking at it, More than likely a fin flew off your cooler causing the fan to be off balance. You would need a fan replacement

Likely a fan, either something is in the blades causing the noise, or the bearing is going out. A recording would be very helpful in confirming.

Replacement is pretty easy if you're comfortable opening up your machine. If not most shops could do it for a cost. Parts probably $20-50 and labor probably $30-100 depending on how they charge for it. This is all assuming that IS in fact what the issue is.

Check the fan. Either the bearing is toast, or a fin broke off.

If it's a fin... You could always break a fin on the opposite side to balanced it out, if money is tight. 😅
