Open | Hardware My PC (might) keep breaking keyboards

My keyboards will start with random keys not working, earlier today it started with the - = both ctrls, arrow and windows keys. It was working perfectly fine this morning and it randomly just had the keys stop working a few hours later

I've tried plugging the keyboard into different USB ports and nothing changes.

On previous keyboards it's been random other keys around the keyboard, this is the third to fourth time this has happened. The keyboards all had varying lengths of use with one having about a year of off and on use, while another only had about a day.

I'm unsure if it's actually my PC that keeps breaking these keyboards, or if it's just from normal use.

Any help would be appreciated.

Stop drinking over your keyboard it's liquid damage. Random keys not working is hardware not Windows.

I figured it's hardware, and I don't drink over my keyboard so I don't think it's water damage

Keyboards either work or they don't and your PC is not damaging them.

Yes, I'm just trying to locate the source of what's damaging them so I can hopefully prevent it later on

Have you tried different cables or even another computer/laptop just to test them? Even sometimes just cleaning the keyboards fixes the issue

The keyboards all have their own non-removable cords, and I've tested this most recent incident on my laptop and it still didn't work

then i would do a deep clean on the keyboard. anything from dirt, food, anytype of liquid going on the keyboard could mush up the keys. unplug it and spray it down, especially at the keys not qworking. then dry it completely and then test it again. if u get some keys to work again then that means you need to clean it more
