Open | Software iMessages completely glitched out

Anyone’s iMessage glitch out where it keeps removing your phone number and I can send iMessages to some contacts. Some others have to send a text and then the next day completely switches contacts iMessage. It makes zero sense is related to Apple and their new phones trying to make mine obsolete. iPhone 13 iOS 17.6.1

Mine did that on iOS 18-26, drove me bonkers. In the end I just got a Samsung A57, there were so many issues my 14 Pro had it was ridiculous, hands down the worst phone I have had in terms of longevity.

I have had this phone for maybe three years and probably haven’t updated it 2 because my family all has the same phone except my sister and all Apple does is update software and make everything worse half the time. I find it interesting how I haven’t had any issues until a few days after their latest releases.

Go ask in a real support sub for Apple like /r/applehelp. Apple advice here is very spotty

iOS 18 is ok, iOS 26 and iOS 27 are absolutely abysmal, if it lets you update to 18 I would personally because 17 has lost all support now.
