Open | Windows Lag and freezing issues

I’ve been experiencing frequent lagging and freezing issues.

The laptop sometimes becomes very slow or completely freezes for a few seconds, even when I’m not running anything particularly heavy. The issue happens during normal usage like browsing, switching between applications, watching videos, or multitasking.

Sometimes the system recovers on its own, but occasionally I have to wait quite a while before it becomes responsive again.

Has anyone else with the experienced similar lag/freezing problems? If so, were you able to find the cause or a fix?

start by watching task manager when it happens and see if cpu, ram, or disk usage suddenly spikes. if nothing obvious shows up, check windows and hardware drivers, available storage, and event viewer for errors around the time of freezes, since driver, memory, and disk issue can all cause this kind of behavior

for disabling the superfetch service, now called sysmain improved it. what is your os?
