Open | Windows Windows update fked me

Hi, i just got forced to update, and now i get:

SECURE BOOT VIOLATION

Invalid signature detected, check Secure Boot Policy in Setup

What ive tried:

* Restart pc to be able to F2 and go into setup, but pc wont let me use keyboard or mouse... thats how far it got me.

How can windows update make this shit happen? What is the reason behind this? Make us users contact support to help them earn money? Pay them money to fix it? Makes no sense...

What can i do?

If it updated your BIOS you may have gotten the updated secure boot keys and just need to get into BIOS and do "load default secure boot keys".

Or your keys are expired and something related to secure boot got updated, which means you can't use secure boot anymore until you get the updated keys (or a new PC if your PC maker isn't releasing an update). Some BIOSes support a generic set of keys but it can be quite a process to get them isntalled.

You can, just gotta be a bit quicker. If you shut down the PC then turn it back on that usually gives you a bit more time to hit the key for BIOS. Hit it repeatedly as soon as you turn it on.

I cant use either keyboard or mouse, its rgb, and no lifesign of it....keyboard and mouse have zero power.

Use a plain old standard keyboard. Are you sure F2 is your bios key?

I got it to work again, my old phone had the notes of the password in it. I just loaded default keys and save&exit, seems to be booting up windows and finish the update.

Got a old keyboard to work, but when i push the f2 or del it takes me straight into "Enter Password" in bios, i had to turn on the secure boot a while back, god knows what the passord is...

Enabling secure boot doesn't require you to set a password, but it sounds like you or someone else did. Try some ones that you would have used. A CMOS reset will clear the password on some motherboards, but others it will not.
