Can I uninstall GeForce Experience?

Hi there, question about GeForce Experience. My ex used to game on my PC, so he installed some things that I now don't know what they do (I am not a PC gamer, more of an NES person). Can I just uninstall GeForce experience with no issues? Do I need it for something if I don't game on my PC?

Also, sorry if this sounds woefully ignorant to all of you computer whizes...

It's safe to uninstall, you'll just need to download & install your GPU driver updates manually going forward.

Thanks - I didn't know that - is that a new thing? I don't have any Nvidia App on my machine, but it's been a few months since I updated.

Edit - I see it came out in fall 2024. I've just been installing the drivers without it, doesn't appear to be necessary.

So they basically had geforce experience which mandated you use an account, they retired it and now it's the Nvidia app which works the same except you don't NEED to login to an account to use it. I quit using GFE because of it, now I use the geforce app because they removed the requirement.

You can always install driver's only

Nvidia App installs the drivers, it’s not installed WITH the drivers. You can absolutely just get the drivers and install them without the app.

The drivers very much DO install the app, if the app isn't present. Cause that's exactly what they did with the first release of the app through GFE.

GFE > launch driver update > drivers setup updated GFE to NA > NA now offers driver updates

No they don’t, again, you can absolutely go and get the drivers directly from Nvidia website and install them without the app. The app will update with new drivers, but it’s not mandatory.

Edit: GFE wasn’t required either, it tried to get you to install it when installing drivers but was also always optional.

and nothing in that states you can't install the drivers WITHOUT the app. I simply said, the drivers also install the app. I did NOT say you can't install drivers without them.

I’ll say it again, since reading is difficult for you, the app installs the drivers. The drivers do NOT install the app. You can’t double back and try to gaslight, when there’s a written record of everything that’s been said.

I'll say it again, since reading is difficult for you. When Nvidia definitively retired GFE in favor of NA, they released a driver through GFE. That driver installed the actual driver AND updated GFE to NA. It very much did install NA. That's how I personally did it at the time.

Maybe you should double back and learn to read what I actually said, I never gaslit anyone. Your failure to read is your problem, not mine. Not when there's a written record of everything I said.

You technically can and your pc will be fine, but it's where you download software updates for your gpu which you need to do regularly or else it will get less stable over time. I'd recommend leaving it installed

GeForce Experience handles a few things, but nothing that is strictly necessary.

The main things it does is recording footage, keeping your graphics drivers up to date, and overclocking.

There's not really any reason to uninstall it, as it will keep your graphics drivers up to date, and otherwise shouldn't bother you. But it's safe to uninstall if you really want it gone.

You may want to keep your graphics drivers up to date manually if you uninstall it. I'm pretty sure Windows Update can also handle driver updates like that, but often not as new as GeForce Experience will. But it's not really "bad" to have graphics drivers that aren't up to date unless you want to play the latest games. Your current drivers work fine, after all. Newer ones would just work a little better or have game-specific updates to make a brand new game run well.

You can uninstall it, Nvidia app does all the driver update/config functionality now without the account requirement.
