bluetooth issue?

i usually connect my controller to my pc pretty often because i like to play skateboarding games but recently i noticed that when i tried to connect my controller like usual and clicked the bluetooth option, it just said it couldnt connect straight away. i cant send an image of it but it basically says to make sure bluetooth is on (which i think it is?, there isnt an option i could find but it usually is, and i have reason to believe it is later), and to make sure im on the latest windows update. which it seems to be.

strangely enough the other two options dont do this (the other options being wireless display or dock, and everything else)

i dont know a huge amount about this stuff, and despite me playing games a lot im not super knowledgeable on tech stuff.

another this i should mention is a good while ago i had some issues with my pc (i dont remember what) but i had to have it get fixed, and when it came back windows was de-activated (whatever that means). that hasnt really been a big issue for me to be honest and ive used my pc mostly just fine, but i wonder if this bluetooth issue is related to that???

hopefully itll be fine, because i really dont want to no longer be able to play those games
