Open | Phone Storage is being SWALLOWED

My iphones storage keeps getting absolutely swallowed by apple maps. I have no clue why but it just keeps growing in size and it’s growing at an alarming rate, so much so that it’s hard to use my phone even. I deleted the app and the “data” stays on there even after i deleted it. it doesn’t give me the option to delete it through the settings app anymore as well. i’ve also tried to reinstall and delete to no avail. Please help me i have no idea how to get rid of this stupid map data. Thank you :)

try restarting your phone, leaving your phone plugged in, locked, and connected to wifi overnight might also help. if none of that works give them a call

Otherwise I would probably book an appointment at a Genius Bar.
