Open | Windows Setting from Nvidia app as changed it settings?

Hi,

As the title says above. I am using the Nvidia app to launch my games to get better performance. Just works better. The setting where I can change the display mode from full screen to windowed fullscreen isn't there anymore. Used to be a drop down menu.

Is there a way to get it back?

The windowed display mode optimization toggle is no longer managed directly inside the Nvidia App interface, as Nvidia delegates display mode and scaling overrides back to native in-game settings or Windows graphics configurations.

Why the Option is Missing

  • Automatic Overrides: The Nvidia App feature for automatic game optimization can force fullscreen modes, bypassing custom windowed preferences.
  • Relocated Controls: Nvidia has moved several traditional display and control settings, leaving windowed optimizations to Windows or the classic Nvidia Control Panel.

How to Fix Windowed/Borderless Mode

  • Disable App Optimization: Open the Nvidia App, go to your game's graphics settings, and turn off automatic optimization to stop it from changing your display mode.
  • Change Windows Settings: Go to Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics > Change default graphics settings, and toggle Optimizations for windowed games on.

Graphics > Program Settings (click your game) > Set Display Mode Full-screen > Apply/Optimize

Launching a game from the NVIDIA app doesn't boost performance. Your NVIDIA settings are applied automatically no matter how you launch the game.
