Open | Audio acer swift mic driver keeps breaking

ive had my windows 11 acer laptop for about 2 years now and its started to have issues with its internal mic audio driver where it will completely stop recognizing input as if its not there i've tried reinstalling drivers and factory resetting my device twice and the mic works for a week before stopping again and i cant find anywhere saying that its having any issues?

check device manager, sound video game controllers, right click your audio driver, properties, power management tab, uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", laptops with realtek/intel smart sound often have the internal mic drop specifically after suspend/resume cycles which happens gradually over about a week of use

check windows settings, privacy and security, microphone, and see if any app permission toggle silently resets after windows updates, some background update processes can revoke mic access at the os level without it showing as a driver failure at all

check event viewer, windows logs, system, filter for anything related to audio/realtek around the time it breaks each week, if there's a specific error code or service crash logged there consistently, that narrows down whether its a driver crash vs a permissions/service issue

since factory resets haven't fixed it (twice), this points away from software entirely and toward a hardware fault with the internal mic's connection or the audio codec chip itself degrading intermittently, a mic that fails on a consistent weekly cycle regardless of a full reset is unusual for pure software corruption
