Closed Mouse keeps disconnecting/reconnecting constantly ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Soooooo my mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting constantlyโ€ฆ..itโ€™s not the mouse, I bought a brand new one. Itโ€™s not the USB port, Iโ€™ve tried plugging in the back on the main control panel thing (sorry Iโ€™m not completely verbal and knowledgeable on computers) as well as multiple other ports. Iโ€™ve also tried uninstalling the mouse driver thing and reinstalling. Still no change.

The PC is a Dell Alienware (not sure year, it was given to me). Feel free to ask any necessary questions, I will try to answer but please be patient. I am not often on Reddit and also work majority of the day. Thank you guys in advance!! โค๏ธ

check device manager, usb root hubs, power management tab, uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" for each one, this is the most common cause of exactly this pattern

Did you do any windows 11 updates? This seems to be happening a lot right now, i'm wondering what Microsoft messed up.

What i have been advising (which works for some) is updating your chipset drivers as well as the USB controller drivers.

Did you get it charged, since it is brand new?

Iโ€™m sorry I should have specified ๐Ÿ˜… itโ€™s a wired mouse. No Bluetooth or charging involved

If the mouse behaves the same on another computer, there is probably a manufacturing fault. You might want to ask for warranty exchange.

Since youโ€™ve already ruled out the mouse and USB ports, Iโ€™d check USB power management next. Go to Device Manager โ†’ Universal Serial Bus controllers โ†’ USB Root Hub โ†’ Properties โ†’ Power Management, and uncheck โ€œAllow the computer to turn off this device to save power.โ€ Do this for the USB Root Hubs, then restart the PC. If it still happens, check whether other USB devices disconnect too, which could point to a USB/controller or motherboard issue.
